Greetings Fellow PetrolHeads,
AceCombatFanIN here finally ready to join in the Spirit of automotive enthusiasm!! I'm 24 years old and currently work as a manufacturing engineer in the aerospace and defense industry.
I've been following teamBHP for over 2 years but finally made the decision to join up a week or 2 ago owing to the fact that finally for the 1st time in my life, I'm soon approaching a stage in my finances where I may finally be able to afford my very own magnum opus in a year or 2s time.
A little about me. I was born in the middle east spending the entirety of my childhood across the UAE and Bahrain before spending adolescence to 21 years in Delhi NCR shifting out to Hyderabad for my first job and eventually to Bangalore during the start of 2023. I've pretty much been exposed to a variety of car cultures and styles.
My craze for being an automotive geek at least as in the words of my parents started off when I probably wasn't 2 years old when they said I learnt to spell and speak car brands before I learnt to even talk proper English words and sentences. It was further fueled by the large collections of toy cars I had including an impressive hot wheels set that's still probably lying around somewhere at home. My old man too was a car enthusiast so we used to talk a lot about cars that appeared in adverts and my elder sister got in on the action too. Then behold I entered following F1 around the time Fernando Alonso won his 2nd world title ending what was Micheal Schumacher's dominance in the early 2000s. 6 year old me really set out to be an F1 racer but was quickly thrown back into reality when the costs to start out itself were too much plus the 2008 recession meant I never did anything beyond a few kart races and eventually I found myself being pulled into swimming and cricket but continued to follow F1 including attending the Bahrain Grand Prix in 2012.
Flash forward to 2014 and in the midst of struggling from adapting from the middle east to India and also with my grades plus early teen issues

, I found my calling leaving the ground for the skies as I found myself being drawn in by the majestic marvel known as the aircraft and decided I'd chase down being a fighter pilot. I tried multiple times to crack NDA and AFCAT and after almost coming close after graduating B.Tech, rejection threw me into a spiral of depression during which well, I found myself coming back to cars and F1 all over again. And now after working for almost 3 years, I look forward to finally calling a car my own

.
I've only ever owned a Yamaha Ray ZR 125 Street Rally Edition given to me as a gift by my mom in May 2024 as a reward for getting a new job elsewhere but the cars and bikes I've been exposed to in the middle east and india include the following
Dad
1. Ford Explorer Sport
2. Toyota Tercel
3. Toyota Corolla (1998)
4. Volkswagen Jetta (I think)
5. Mercedes S500 ( Was the car of the Ex Japanese Ambassador to Bahrain)
6. Kawasaki Ninja 1000cc
7. Ducati (I remember it was a 400cc model)
8. Fiat Palio 1.6
9. Ford Ikon 1.6
10. Hyundai Verna (2013)
11. Duke 390
12. Harley Davidson x440
13. Suzuki Swift Sport
Mom
1. Peugeot 206
2. Ford Expedition
3. Volkswagen Golf (2008)
4. Nissan Tida
5. Peugeot 307
6. Hyundai i10
7. Honda Aviator
8. Honda CRV (2008)
So overall quite the variety as I'd like to think.
My other passions and interests include Aviation and Defense which I'm a keen follower of. I one day aspire to get a commercial pilot's license myself and I could go on and on about aircraft as such especially those in the military domain. Other secondary ones include listening to music (I'm a fan of Linkin Park and Starset especially), reading books (Tom Clancy and Murakame), learning Japanese (Aldnoah Zero, Area 88, Steins Gate, Initial D and Wangan Midnight bit me) and playing video games (Ace Combat especially).
That's enough about myself now. Looking forward to connecting with everyone here and having tons of interactions!!
