Jokes aside, I too, am an admirer of the 3rd generation. I've always liked the way it looked, that bold planted stance of a late 2000s Sedan meant for the executives. The engine had a grunt and delivered power at City speeds with ease. Unfortunately this Honda was short-lived as by the time 2014 came, the focus was now on refinement and prestige (hence the sunroof and interior calibration on the Indian spec variants which are VERY different than what the ASEAN versions got). I still wish they retained the ergonomics of the 3rd gen.

I don't remember much about its power delivery and driving dynamics (I was 3 when we got it and 7 when we sold it). But, the executive aspect and a few other miscellaneous qualities of that car have been ingrained into my brain.
The ride (as a passenger) was fantastic. The cabin wasn't talkative. It was silent, only the sweet engine whine used to make its way into it. Ride quality was fantastic, it never swayed around (general characteristic of a sedan, but City does it better). The A/C is probably the best I have ever experienced my entire life.
In terms of speed it was a huge upgrade from our dinky Santro, I remember that well. Felt like I was being thrown around.
I don't have a lot of "mechanical" memories but, lot of emotional memories with it.
Also, it was our first fancy car with a lot of "goodies" (lots of knobs and buttons to play around with).

Lucky guy. I wonder that if things went towards the Renault that month, maybe you would've been a duster fan today... who knows..

I think you misinterpreted my sentence (I am to blame, the sentence was not clear as I would've preferred it).
I wanted my father to buy a City, but we bought a Duster. I am not a fanboy of that car. It was nice, but that's it. It looked extremely cool though, we had an Adventure model in green with smoked headlamps, absolute looker of a car. I still see that car once in a while.

While the most common occurrences in my area are that of the wheel caps variants (metonomy), the top variants have a special place in my heart. Why? And it's a stupid reason. The top spec automatic variant came with these shiny multi-spoke alloys and ORVM integrated turn signals.. they just changed the way it looks on the roads completely. It's something you can sit and admire. Unfortunately that variant is a rare one for me.

Our car was the top end
V variant (in 2010). The City has a design that has been aging gracefully, even the current gen looks fantastic and will sell well (too bad Honda is run by hamster brained people).
I think ZX was introduced with the 4th gen city, since sunroof was a bigger selling point for that car and was also the biggest differentiation factor.
They introduced sunroof for the 3rd gen City too, but only for a few months.
Infact, it got a touchscreen and reverse camera. That car looks amazing, I prefer the thick halogen side indicators to the slim ones, they have more personality.
The top end wheels look fantastic. I love the was they look. Simple 5-spoke, no nonsense.

Anyhow, sorry for my blabbering, it's what I call the.. "Honda Talk" |
It is not blabbering if it is a car. One of the best aspects of T-BHP is that you can yap about cars how much every you want and no one will complain (as long as it has subject

)

Pleasure to meet you, and thank you for your benevolent regards. Have you posted an ownership review of your 3rd gen? Would love to see it!

We sold the car in 2014. We have a different car now. I would love it if we purchased the City again

. Absolutely love that car.
You should write one for your car.
I think I yapped too much now.
