Hello Team-BHP

Hi All,

So it happened finally after 11 years (my first attempt was on 16 Oct 2013).
I am very much pleased and grateful to moderators for approving my membership.

Well I am Marine Engineer by profession and based out of small town, Kangra, in Himachal Pradesh. It was in 2011 when I was hunting for reviews/mods for my first car Hyundai I20 that I came across this wonderful community. Ever since I am so much addicted to Team-BHP that even my better half gives me space when I am reading on Team-BHP.

Cars which I have owned so far -
1. I20 (2011-2013)
2. WagonR (2013-2014)
3. Global Ford Fiesta (2014-Present)

Bikes/Scooters which I have owned so far -

1. Yamaha R15 (V1) -2008-2011.

Recently I bought back my R15 from the one whom I had sold in 2011.when I bought it back RC was expired and bike needed complete makeover which I have completed and transformed my first love like new one.

2. Vespa 160 (2013-2014)
3. Enfield 350 Standard (2014-2016)
4. Suzuki Burgman (2018-Present)
5. Kawasaki ZX10R (2019-2022)
6. BMW S1000RR (2023-present)

You might have got some idea that I am more like a hardcore biker.

Last week while being in Atlantic Ocean it just popped up in my mind to attempt again for membership and it just happened.

And here I am typing my introduction. I will try to contribute to this community as much as possible from the experience and knowledge I have attained during my ownership of cars/bikes.

Looking forward to pen down my ownership reviews of both super-bikes once I am back in India from ship.
Thanks to moderators again.

Re: Hello Team-BHP

Welcome Torq. Always happy to see another biker on our ship! Do make a point of reviewing our Forum rules once and to post as per the protocols. We are particular on that.

Coming to the business at hand, love the 2W progression. I would personally have loved to have the much more comfortable Burgman over my N Torq but my wife found it too intimidating being a newbie rider so we went with the TVS for her comfort.

Moving up to litre class, please do share the experiential difference between the Kawasaki and the BMW. I have heard from some track bike riders that the ZX10R is much more snappy where the S1000 can be a touch more forgiving. But would love to hear more from you about the comparison between the two since you’ve owned both.

Look forward to the detailed reviews as well in due course.

Hello Torq-D,

Glad to see a Marine Engineer and a biker on the forum.

I don’t think there are a lot of Ford Fiestas on the forum, especially the Global. Is yours the facelift? I believe it came out in 2014 as well. Looking forward to reading your ownership of the same.

Must say, that’s a long list of bikes! The BMW S1000RR is such a drool worthy bike. Glad that the thought of applying for membership popped into your head while in the ocean.

Looking forward to reading about your experiences in the sea and land.

Welcome to the forum!

Thanks for the wishes Sir. Your posts have always imparted in-depth knowledge about automobiles and marine engineering. Looking forward to gain more from stalwarts of shipping.

Thanks for the wishes Sir. You are right, Burgman is intimidating for Ladies. In my case wife is experienced rider so she can handle it smoothly.

BMW is any day more forgiving than ZX10R. BMW doesn’t scare you and gives you second chance to correct your inputs. Biggest gripe I have had with ZX10R was with its brakes. They are not confidence inspiring. I will definitely do comparison review of both bikes when I am back.

Thanks Sir. Yes, it's Global Fiesta 2014 (facelift).
