Eventhough I joined this group around 3 months back and started browsing this site regularly I forgot to introduce myself.
I am Tomy, aged 46 working as a manager in a well known software firm. I am interested in cars (even my son who is 15) and bought 5 cars in the past 9 years. Currently own a Palio 1.6GTX and a Getz GLS. I have almost the entire issues of Autocar and Overdrive from 1998/99.
I was in Bombay (studied in IIT Powai) before landing in Bangalore in 1987. Last 2.5 years I am shuttling between Bangalore and Chennai. So lot of highway driving - GTX really shine here. I want to pickup a Skoda RS by next year.

I found this site very interesting, lot of excellent postings from most fellow BHPians. I may not have much time to post anything but let me try.

Man, u r going to get an RS.. But you have said by next year.. Does that mean 2006?!! Oh..

Yes I am basically a Mallu born and brought up in Kerala but now visit Kerala only as a tourist. I wanted to get the new look Skoda RS which I expect to be launched by next year in India, so that I can drive every week (Chennai - Bangalore) instead of alternate weeks as of now. Even our new Campus in Chennai is coming up in Mahindra City which will reduce the travel time by at leaset by 1.5hours between our Bangalore and Chennai Infy campus.

Manager!! Wow.. Certainly can afford to buy an RS and travel weekly b/w B'lore and Chennai.....

Hey Tomy, nice meeting you. Yeah the RS is a great highway car to have.

Is your son a member too? If not make him one, 15 is the right age for all this. Hehe

So, by the time he's ready for his DL, he'll be well versed with the automotive world.
