Old man joining up...

Hi All,

I started posting in the forum starting this week before stumbling across this section. Therefore, let me introduce myself.

I am atleast a decade older than the average age of BHPians which I think is around 25-26. Well, I'll soon be 36. Don't believe the DOB in my BHP profile, that belongs to my son. After spending 12 years in various Internet forums, I am too wary of admitting my real DOB on the web...

I am the Vice-President/Country head of a tiny MNC software product company HQed in USA. I run the Indian operations in Bangalore ever since I returned from USA in 2004. I also do programming apart from my management duties.

My main passions are martial arts and sporty cars, in that order. I am familiar with many martial arts weapons like Samurai wooden sword (bokken), Nunchaku, staffs (long and short), etc. I recently resumed my Karate classes after a long break, and I am the oldest student in the class...

Regarding cars, these are the cars I've have owned so far:

1993-95: Toyota Corolla (1985 model Used car)
1995-96: Maruti Omni (Used car, year don't matter since nothing ever changed in them)
1996-97: Mercury Sable (1991 model used car, an identical twin of Ford Taurus)
1997-98: Maruti 800 (1997 model new car, my first new car actually)
1998-00: Chevorlet Malibu LS (1998 Model leased car, average performance but great value)
2000-04: Acura 3.2TL (2001 Model leased car, 225HP sports sedan, best car I've ever had)
2003- : Hyundai Santro Xing AT (2003 Model new car, can't wait to get back to performance cars)

Other than these, I have driven whole lot of other cars as rentals or via friends. I have driven Mercedes, BMW, Lexus, Cadillac, Ford, GM, Chrysler, Honda, Toyoto, Nissan, etc, etc, etc. I always used to choose peppy cars whenever I rented cars during business trips.

Anyway, after I moved back to India my car driving scene is pretty bleak. I am hoping to improve this scene by changing to a Petra this year.

Regards,
Samurai

When I said a tiny MNC, I meant it. We are a very very small company catering to a very niche customer segment. Tiny company, tiny VP, the only thing that isn't tiny is the salary...
