The long wait is over!

Well after waiting for a period which seemed like eternity (actually about a few weeks perhaps) my membership to team-bhp has been finally approved.

I have had fascination with cars since I can ever remember. I wanted to be an automobile designer from an early age and used to sketch cars (still do sometimes) for hours on end. I managed to get into IIT and did a degree in Industrial Design with most of my projects related to automobiles. During my college days I also did an internship at GM India (got to design a dashboard facelift) and at Volkswagen in Wolfsburg, Germany(worked in the field of Augmented Reality).

Well everything looked fine in me becoming a automobile designer until I got to know the package offered my companies in India for a fresher in my field

Well that settled it, I became a Analyst in the field of Marketing Analytics instead!

I bought a used Alto a few months back (lots of help taken from tbhp forums regarding this decision) and ICE'd it, alloys wheels, tyres etc.

Apart from cars I am really into military aviation (you can see from my display pic )

I think this is a long enough first post. Hope to learn a lot from team-bhp.

Well a while back you could fly a Mig-25 provided you had the $$$$, but for now you will have to settle for a Su-27 or Mig-29:

Fly MiG and Sukhoi Fighter Jets in Moscow!

$12,590.00 only

Ah, very nice. MiG-25, the highest-flying jet aircraft ever. All alloy, almost no titanium. That was a real brute!

Welcome aboard, that's a hell of a nickname to live upto!

Well I joined this forum to learn about cars, but I am learning about planes also

I thought the SR-71 was the highest flying plane, but v1p3r has correctly stated that the Mig-25 is.

However the Mig-25 holds the record for highest altitude in ballistic trajectory (123,523 feet) while the SR-71 in controlled horizontal flight(85,069 ft).

Just in climb -- or ballistic flight -- the Foxbat is unbeatable. Together, MiG design bureau aircraft hold absolute height, climb, flight speed, and other records. Unbelievably, the MiG-21 'Fishbed' is also among one of the record-holders, IIRC.

Sorry v1p3r, I'm also a big fan of the Mig bureau but it doesnt hold the record for the fastest flight speed.

The SR-71 is the fastest manned plane in the world capable of taking off and landing on its own(2,293 mph).

However the Mig-25 is the fastest jet fighter(2,115 mph) in the world

Also many people would be suprised to know the world's first and fastest supersonic passenger jet was the Tu-144 and not the Concorde as many people believe.
