Namaste!

Hi,

Decided to start off with a traditional Indian 'Namaste' instead of a Hi!

This is my first post to this forum. I have been a avid reader of team-bhp for quite some time though. I have found lots of great photos and advice on this forum.

I own a Swift Vxi and love to go on long drives. I stay in Pune with my wife.

I am trying to gather information on how to reach Bhandardara from Pune. Which is the best route to take? I haven't found much on the internet (Google maps and other map applications have failed me in the past!)

Hope there is someone here who can answer my query!

Thanks,
Shubhadeep

I guess the only way to get to Bhandardara Dam is either from Nasik or from Igatpuri. I HIGHLY recommend the Nasik - Deolali - Air Force base - Bhandardara road, it's a new highway. Well built and totally empty. Beautiful 60 minute drive from Deolali.

Bhandardara will be a sight in the monsoons. If you plan to stay overnight, the MTDC (reasonable + renovated) or Anand Bhuvan (excellent + overpriced) are two options.

We were just there two weekends back. Here's a pic. Took the cars ON the dam

Not to forget : Do take a quick pitstop by our board rules section.

Welcome to the forum.

Is this the dam that was in the news yesterday ? (Low water level at the dam and water shortage in Pune city)

I can assure you - that's not how we wash cars around here

Is there no way of getting to Bhandardara from Pune, unless I go via Nasik or Mumbai? That looks like a long detour!

Map my india shows me a road, is that good enough?
