Hi guys,

I'm from Surrey, England - Going to be living in Mumbai/ Vasai for the next 1 year as I am taking some time out from work and spending a year here in India. Obviously being a car enthusiast I have to get some wheels out here. I have about RS. 2 lacs tops to spend on something good out here as it is only going to be with me for 1 year. I will modify it slightly too of course.

Previously I have owned a 1969 Mercedes Benz which I completely restored and gave lowrider treatment to. And then I started but never finished on another project which I was going to make into a road/ rally car which was my 1980 VW Derby. You can see pics of both attached.

As you can see I like my old/ low/ german cars. But I dont mind anything semi-decent. I have been looking at Lancers out here, but they seem to sell for around 2.5 lacs minimum... I test drove one with LPG this morning but wasn't so pleased with it. It had a million dents and scrapes. Why is it so hard to get a good car out here at a reasonable price second hand?! In England i could be driving a good condition e36 BMW M3 for the price I'm paying out here for a beaten up Lancer.

So some help please on where to look. Currently I'm staying in Thane so anyone who knows of good resources here or vasai or in mumbai itself, advice is more than welcome.

You're right. There's a world of difference between used cars here and in the West. I suggest you hunt around in the classifieds section here. Enjoy the forum anyway
