What's In A Name!

That what we call Team-BHP, will still be the greatest forum for auto enthusiasts in India, by any other name !

Hello everyone.

I am Kapil, serving in Indian Navy and an aviator too. A Naviator for short. I can't say that I am an auto enthusiast, considering the level of know-how of team BHPians. I do understand a bit about driving and automobiles. I have owned a Fiat Uno since 1999. Other cars that I have driven include good old Amby, Santro, Indica, Baleno, WagonR, Swift and Alto. I have done a few long drives, these include:

Kochi to Chennai and back.
Kochi to Bangalore to Mysore to Ooty to Kochi
Kochi to Mumbai and back
Mumbai to Jammu and back
Numerous trips from Kochi to Kanyakumari and back.

All these I have accomplished on my Uno, without any problems and complaints . I guess that has given me a lot of confidence in Fiat, so I am planning to upgrade soon to a Punto.

Welcome Kapil. This is the right place for all automobile enthusiasts. I see you had driven quite a lot of cars and did some long drive. Will be looking forward to seeing some travelogues. Hope you will have a nice stay here and drive safe and have fun.

Welcome to T-BHP Kapil. We already have some reviews on Flying and Sailing here! Do share your experiences in a separate thread!

Thanks Murali. Unfortunately I do not have any pictures of my travels. But will surely make an attempt to explain how I managed these long distances.

Thanks Pulsar. I guess being a newbie, I can afford for bad starts, after all famed cricketers too have bad starts.

Hi Kapil!
Welcome to T-BHP! Good to see a Naval Aviator. I know there are more of you on T-BHP and probably more AF types too. I was in school at Kochi when the first Sea Kings were inducted. The gen around those days were that the 'helo' was the size of a double decker bus. I guess the only others those days were the Alouette IIIs.

Hi Jimmy. I guess you can call all twin engine rotors as "double deckers". All those years gone by, and hunter (conventional or nuclear) killer is still a formidable double decker.
