HoWDa Bhpians!!!!!

It feels great to be a part of team bhp, this is one place where i find passionate car lovers just like myself.I am 24 years old and am into corporate law.I stay in Delhi with my brother who is a marine engineer. I am a car and bike enthusiast and have traveled widely across India(north).
Passion for automobiles runs in my family as my grandpa loved cars and owned a ford prefect and an impala way back in 1960s, and my dad has actually been my tutor regarding cars and bikes and has owned beautiful cars like Nissan president v8, rover standard v6, Mercedes 240-D 123, Mercedes E-230 etc and had a bullet in college in early 1970s.

I learnt driving when i was in 7th..our tenant had a premier padmini with stearing mounted gear shifts(the original paddle shifts ) nobody knew that i was learning to drive coz at that age it was a strict no no..

After i learnt to drive a little bit i used to park my dadz car facing the other side when he came back from office...soon i got busted and surprisingly dad wasn't angry at all, i guess he realized that if once i had the taste of driving it would be better to let me drive in his presence than refusing to let me drive and me ending up in a joy ride bang up........

When in school i used to look for excuses to take out a car for a drive even if it was just to get coke or a chocolate.....i hated to wake up early morning but i took the 5 am tution so that i could take a drive.. ..... my grandpa realized my passion and got me a black gypsy king when i was in 11th..and every subsequent exam saw me fixing benchmarks so that i could get goodies for the black bull...such as alloys, sub etc...my second companion was a royal enfield std 350 that was a gift for getting into law college then in third year of my law i got a second hand palio 1.2 as getting around Delhi in summers was a pain..fitted it with 15 inches and a loud musik system....i still have all of them with me..i just cant let go of them.......we recently bought a xylo E-6 on 5th of feb. So presently i have a gypsy king, fiat palio, Xylo parked in my garage and a maruti 800 which my bhabhi drives..as my brother is away for half of the year i have these to choose from everyday i go to office....

Driving is a passion and we go for a family vacation whenever possible..normally 3-4 times a year.. we have travelled all the way to kandla port in gujrat in guess what?? july...crossing the rann of kach...we have travelled all throughout Rajasthan, Himachal, Punjab, Gujrat, J&K, Haryana, Uttaranchal, UP, basically northern part of india..which includes a bullet trip from delhi to pushkar via naseerabad with friends and dad who escorted us in the gypsy last year.....and our first trip this year might be to veraval, a port city in Gujrat where my brother's ship might be coming this month and if it does he will be getting off from there...and we are hoping to drive to some southern parts in the near future...

Dad doesn't get to drive much as me n my elder brother are always in a tiff as to who will drive..he being an engineer in merchant navy gets my dadz vote as he is away for half of the year...
I love to drive fast and have touched 160+ on my dadz E Class..my dream car on indian roads is merc CLS 500..mostly because of the fact that choice here in India is very limited....as my list of dream cars is just endless...

I feel joining this community would be great as i would be able to share my views which will help me and hopefully others in increasing each other's knowledge.
