Hi to all fellow BHPians,

This is Saravanan from Chennai.

I've been watching this DF for past one month and it has led to a major change in my passion n love for cars.

Yes it has influenced me to sell my (good old) M800 and buy a (better) OHC Vtec.

There were few options for me i.e., Swift or CRDi or Palio... But I had zeroed on Vtec.

Credit goes to u guys; after reading so many write ups on Vtec n GTX... I had a better picture of the car performance.

So long keep in touch guys.

Welcome!

Be warned that OHCs command a high price in the Chennai market. It is very difficult to find a VTEC in good condition that comes on the used car market. Most OHC (both V1 and V2) owners are a very satisfied lot. All the best!

Hi adityapd,

I've got my Vtec for 5.5, It has a pioneer system with 12 CD Changer and done 42K Kms. Pictures!!!yup I do have one taken from my mobile may be better picture later.

I do have few problems like minor scratches in fender, a hiss noise when I switch on the audio, need to replace the rubber and no mech problem so far.

There was couple of Vtec's for sale on last sunday paper ad...the price expected for one of them was 6.25. This one had a K&N performance filter, body skirt and 12 CD Plus MP3 combi.

Howz the price in Mumbai for this type of a car...any idea?

-Happy driving

what's the year of manufacture is it 2002 or 2003 ? prices are almost the same if not lesser in mumbai...a 2002 vtec is quoted at around 5.0 L whereas 5.5 to 5.75 L would get you a decent 2003 piece.

Hey VTEC.
welcome aboard.
Enjoy your stay here.
I too am a fan of the Vtec but getting a second hand car is becoming tougher and tougher these days (convincing my dad and my jijaji is probably the toughest) but if we am in the market for a 5L car we would def. pick up the VTEC if we could find one.
The price when we were car hunting recently (picked up the lancer - keeps everyone happy, engine - mods - and handling for me, FE for the accountant, looks and easy to drive for my sisters, good ride for my mom and trouble free for dad. Also it is the most stable car on the highways. Totally in love with it.)
That time i saw a few good Honda Citys 1.5s and VTECs for 5.0 - 6.0, 2002-2003 models done less then 20Kkm.
It just didn't make sense though because the car was going to be chaeffuer driven then my sister would be learning on it and we ended up with the lancer (Though baleno was in contention, interiors, looks were a major put off and i just felt more comfortable in the lancer though i was unhappy with initial quality.
Anyways, sorry to go offtopic..
Enjoy your stay here.
