Seeing so many cars with team-bhp stickers in bangalore! It has become like a club. Finally I'm a member here :D

I'm Captain slow from Bangalore. I'm told that I'm the slowest driver and been compared to James may. I have a real bad sense of direction and sometimes can get lost for hours and hours.

Like so many others here I too I'm stuck to the IT field. After a hard days work we drive home at snails pace. sigh Bangaluru traffic

Captain Slow.

Welcome, Capt'n. And nothing bad or surprising about the sense of direction - I suspect you really love to drive, and you are using that " bad sense of direction " as an excuse to drive some more :D .

Would love to hear about your drives, and more about yourself.

Hope you enjoy the journey here. And pls do stop by the rules section, just so it becomes easier to navigate here & understand how things are organized.

Welcome again !

Welcome aboard Capn Slow. So which car do you drive so slowly?

Some more details please.

Welcome captain.. though a short intro, it was a humorous post about you getting lost!!

Few more details on your rides please!!

Welcome Captain,

What matters is what you think? If you think you are slow, revv it up!!!! But i agree with condor, it seems you use this as an excuse to roam around. BTW what do you drive, a 100 kms in a BMW is slow :D

Welcome Captain. Yes, you have our attention. :)

I see a hint of great modesty here, open up captain and do share more about your drives.

A warm welcome to Captain Slow from the original (bb)LOST guy.

Have a quick look at the annoncements section. It sure comes in handy.

Btw what is your ride?

Ahoy Cap'n! Welcome aboard. We just love the 'i got lost' stories, you really weren't that lost if you found your way back. :)

your stories should be really interesting. i think driving slow in blore will contribute towards longevity. enjoy..

hahah!! thanks for the warm welcome guys.
Driving in Bangaluru traffic can only make you crazy. But today was rather surprising! Empty roads and easy traffic, only wish everyday was like today.

Back in 83 Dad got our first car which was a Fiat. We traveled all over south India with it and had a great time. Being a bucket of rust that it was it held up surprisingly well. We have some old photos of dad changing tyres, refilling the rad in the middle to no where :Shockked: I cant imagine myself in such a situation now. I guess times have changed.
After that we had a couple of other cars in between which was with out for a couple of years and we got rid of them.
Now I drive an Esteem! And trust me this one is one of a Kind.
This esteem reminds me of the Toyota Hilux on top gear. Its done about 130k KM's and still shows no signs of any major problems with the engine. There is a bit of rattle here and there but these rattles are even there on newer swifts lol. My esteem has aged well.
Just last weekend I had gone to mysore and the car did really good speeds and handled well.

Off late my esteem has started losing some self esteem because he was all alone. So Just the other day after reading the excellent review by GTO I went and booked a Figo Petrol, (more on this in the right section) hoping that the figo brings back some self esteem to my esteem haha!

kutlee
yes I got plenty of stories. Most of them can put people to sleep. More stories later!
Really glad to be a part of this community thanks guys.

yesterday i was on a trip to Bidadi in my M800, nothing to do, just wanted to get lost on the highway to kill some boredom at home. ended up at the CCD and came back. i think it is approx 60 kms two ways and took some 4 hours. got lost initially at kempagowda searching for Mysore highway.
one instance though...i took break at some tree shade on the highway after some bit of slow driving and the sun heating me up. i saw a moving indica's passenger door open (idica should be doing around 50-60kms hour). i thought somebody's going to jump out. that idiot threw a plate (plastic ones you get at hotels) half full of some red color curry onto the middle of the road. the plate was lying on the road with curry faced up. some cars and bikes missed it and i was watching (from a safe distance) otherwise there was a fair chance that it could have splashed on to me. one biker finally hit it bang in the middle and curry splashed onto his jeans. he was doing some good speed. he was looking down onto his jeans and drving ahead. i thought "can happen on indian roads" and continued.

Hey Captain, welcome on board. James May is not that slow. He did 253 mph in a Veyron if I am not mistaken. Maybe the Figo would turn out to be your Veyron. :D And oh,are you a Vijaykanth fan by any chance? lol

Welcome to team Bhp Captain!

Glad that your dad's first car was a Fiat! But I guess it was not well maintained.

Take good care of your FIGO otherwise it too will turn into a broken bucket of rust!:D

welcome capt slow. i am sure you will have a great time here. Drive safe and take care.

uhm! Well some of us here still own these "buckets of rust" which surprisingly are being served well by us. :)

Hey Captain, welcome to the world of Auto-encyclopedia. We wish you a pleasant stay.
Drive safe - but not tooo slow because sometimes driving too slow is also dangerous ..
