This is Balachandhran (feel free to call me Bala) and I am currently in Edmond, Oklahoma, USA. My wife and I are looking forward to being back in India for Diwali (or Deepavali as i like to refer to it).

We will be setting our roots back in Chennai. Its wonderful to find a forum for car enthusiasts in India and whats more - becoming a part of it. However, i dont really understand the need to limit new members from posting in the 'What Car' section at all? It seems to me as if the new members will mostly want to make use of that section.

I do have a big 'What Car' question which i intend to pose to the gurus here and hope to gather some of their collective wisdom on the topic. Is this section then the right place to pose such a query - considering that i am still a newbie? Please let me know.

The situation is such that i need to make a decision on the car in the next week or so so that i can have the car ready for me to pick up when i get back to India. I would appreciate if the moderators can point me in the right direction and let me know where i need to post my query.

hey bala.
firstly welcome to tbhp and im sure youll have a great stay.secondly about the rights to post in certain sections.dont worry about that just start your thread in the indian car scene and the moderators wiill shift it if necesaary.but definitly do a search before starting the thread.

Post your query in the Indian car scene or Introduce yourself and then shoot a PM to one of the Mods, asking them to place it in the proper section. Since you need much-required info urgently, there is nothing wrong with this action.

Welcome back to India, its a slightly better place now....

hey bala, good to know of quite a number of guys in chennai being in the forum... we've got some real gurus too, but not to the extent of mumbai!!!
but hey who's complaining... not me

...
so once you land down, you could have a test drive of all the cars that would fit your budget and try to work out the pros and cons of each ...
so till then...
