HELLO T-BHP World!

Hello T-BHP World,

I got lucky after One & half year later and registering for the ninth time, when today (08th April 2010) I recieved the email of my life:
Team-BHP Membership APPROVED!

Thanks to all the moderators and all the members of Team-BHP.

Next target: Distinguished-BHPian!

About myself:
I am an undercover auto enthusiasist who goes under the guise of KA18.

After I hang my cape, I turn to my latest alter-ego, the mild mannered Travel Agent.

Earlier secret identities included becoming a telecom Engineer, a hardware merchant, a computer dealer and a mobile phone dealer. Hopefully the present id should last for a very long time to come.

Chronicles of the KA18 caper:

My dad used to have a Willy's Jeep (I don't know the model/make), an a ambassador and a LML Vespa - all sold, followed by a Kinetic Honda 1987 (Jap Engined,

I learnt riding on this) and a Ki-Ho Marvel 1997.

First outdoor adventure on a bicycle at the age of 10 with a backpack.

First bike was the nightmarish BSA bond - I should be thankful to this bike because I learnt everything about 2 wheelers from this totally unrealiable
machine, which all mechanics were reluctant to repair. Finally managed to sell the bike which was modded with yamaha front fork and wheel, Yezdi rear wheel and tyre, imported Mikuni carburettor, FFE, imported showa rear monoshock (The swingarm was modified), headlight from the RTZ, etc.,

This has helped me maintain my bikes in good condition. The marvel was recently rebuilt again, hopefully to last another decade atleast.
I have a TVS Victor Gl, very immaculately maintained.

Coming to 4-wheelers, I learnt driving on a ramshackle 3 geared Jeep (specs unknown).
My first vehicle was a New Maruti Omni (1999), which our family kept for 9 years.
I brought a used 800 (1998 model) which was not in a too good condition, which was restored back to its glory and sold off.

Luck chanced in the form of a TATA Indica DLS (2003) with very good service records and top maintainance by the original owner. Even the polythene covers on the seats were not removed! Still have it and love the car.

Latest on the soon-to-be-realised wish list are: The TATA Indigo MANZA and the RE Bullet CL350.

Others on the might-happen-sometime list: Merc E350/BMW 320d and if I'm really lucky, a Mahindra CLASSIC !

- THE EXPLOITS Coming Soon at a Forum near you! -

Thank you Rehaan!
I got in with some difficulty and I am not in a hurry to exit either!
I do understand the necessity for protocol and prove myself a true BHPian.

Maybe such a process did not exist.
But looking at the number of posts of some of the bhpians joined long back (Some are still at 0 posts), I feel the process should be re-analysed again.
Anyway, the MODs of the best auto forum (Team-Bhp) will know better than me!

The disclaimer at the end is almost like a movie. And the fact that you are from a beautiful place raises the expectations. We are waiting for some great travelogues from you.

Ha ha, thank you MX6. I just hope that it will be as interesting.
I do love my place and judging from your opinion, you have been here and u love it too!

My travelogues will take some time as I did not have the habit of writing down or carrying my camera along with me for my earlier expeditions.

I regret that now

Hopefully, there won't be any mistakes the nest time.

Actually I'm awaiting the monsoons to capture Chikmagalur in its full glory (and I'll find some time off too).

Meanwhile maybe I'll try post some pictures which I took some time back.

KA 18, 9 registration attempts. Hats off to the enthusiasm. And I was so crestfallen after registering for the first time that I decided to give it a final, second shot(was accepted thankfully). Hoping to hear more from you.
Cheers
