Jeep Lover from Chennai

Thanks to all moderators, admins and members for this wonderful site. I have been browsing this site for a long long time before I felt the need to join and share my experiences.

Iam from Kerala, a mallu who loves jeeps. Now Settled in Chennai, have a family, a 2 year old kid and works in an IT company. My daily drive is a Bolero SLE. This beauty has been my companion for the last one year, a very reliable work horse and minimal maintenance cost. Have done innumerable long drives and fishing trips without any major break downs. No wonder Bolero is still the largest selling SUV!

Recently I became a prowd owner of a 99 Gypsy King Carb and is currently learning the ABC's of 4WD. Have kept a target of 6 months to get this vehicle OTR ready. Would be starting a new thread on the same in 4X4 section.

Also owns a 2002 CBZ, which is still used for my short rides.

Welome to t-bhp prasoon. I think you should be the first guy in IT to have a Bolero as a daily commute and kudos to your 4WD passion. Look out for the OTRs in Chennai.

Welcome to TBHP !
Do put up a ownership thread for the Bolero as well as the Gypsy.

A Bolero as a daily drive, and working in an IT company on OMR...well, well ! I have seen a white Bolero in one of the IT cos on OMR. What tyres do you have on your Bolero?

Nope; I see a Bolero in our premises in RMZ Millennia; that guy seems to be working for Shell or something; unless the guy is same as Prasoon

Bolero runs on GoodYear-Wrangler-215-RT. This came along with the vehicle. still has some more life left within.

Nice to meet you! Jeeva, its good to know that there are other crazy people like me driving a bolero to office.

To be frank, in Chennai it's not really bad. No one dares to cut accross your path and you get to look down upon the puny ANHC, civics etc

Prasoon, are you from Palakkad? Nice looking Gypsy. What is the condition of this one? is it a 4x4 in good condition? What upgrades are planned for the gypsy?

My mom's native place is Palakkad! Gypsy condition is very good, currently sorting out the small niggling problems. Planning for a seperate thread for the King.
