Greetings from Chandigarh

A big hello to all the BHPians on this forum.
I am Dr. Sandeep S. Janjua, an Ophthalmologist residing in 'The City Beautiful' Chandigarh.
These past two weeks have been something of a revelation for me. I was frantically browsing the net for reviews/info about the Scorpio vlx that I intended to buy. It has been my dream to own one and was looking for really unbiased reviews regarding the vehicle. Lo and behold, I come across the Team-BHP website! I thank God for that. I got an answer to all the questions I had about the Scorpio in the various threads posted by fellow BHP-ians and to tell you the truth, I made notes! The more I read the threads, the more my appetite for information increased and I realized how little I knew about the automobile.
One fine morning (also the D-day for booking the scorpio vlx 4x4), I sent a request to the Team-BHP administrators for membership of the forum and later on in the day headed to the Mahindra dealership with the notes that I had prepared going through the various threads here.
The questions I asked the sales executives made their jaws hit the floor. They had no clue to many of my queries and had to call in the manager, who in turn had to call someone higher up on the phone. What I would love to mention here is the scary looks they were giving to the notes that I held in my hands, wondering, I am sure that something fishy was going on!
Well, after all my queries were dealt with, I gave the booking amount and I am sure the dealership guys must have been glad to see my back.
I have posted this rather long (sorry, if boring) experience here just to reiterate my one point, and that is that it was only due to the Team-BHP website that transformed and ordinary mortal like me into some kind of an avatar of automotive knowledge that could put professional auto salesmen/women to shame. I can never thank Team-BHP enough. Ever.

Thanks & happy motoring!

Regards,
Janjua.

Welcome Janjua ji, congrats on your booking.

"Notes"! You made me feel as if you were to appear for your Prof. examinations!

Ophthalmologists in the Northern region seem to be adventurous people. If I remember correctly, there was a thread by "EyeDoc" from Chd. in which 4x4 fun on Montero was exhibited.

Chandigarh, that's the town that Le Corbusier helped lay out, isn't it? I want to visit there one day. Welcome!

Hi AWD. Yes, going through the posts here, it really was an education for me. EyeDoc (Deepinder) is a good friend of mine. We studied together during MBBS. He is quite an adventurous chap and loves his cars.

Welcome aboard - do keep an eye out for the meets. Last impromptu one happened last month (I guess)...

Look forward to see you and share your experiences in the times to come.
