I see everyone mentioning about going for a wider set of tyres for Baleno. That is one mod I do not mind doing. But, is it really necessary ? That is, are the stock tyres risky at high speeds or something ? I am a novice when it comes to tyres and was wondering whether it is imperative that I change to wider rubber.

That entirely depends on your driving style. Let us know how you drive and what you expect from your car. Proper advice can follow that.

If you are not upgrading to wider tyres, at least consider switching to tubeless tyres. It will be safer, improves ride quality even if you stick to the same width.

In that case why don't you check out the possibilities with alloys, like this: http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/vbpicg...p?do=view&g=75

hey samurai, nice pics that you have there.
i did think of alloys but read somewhere that with alloys, you should always use the tyre changing m/c. the usual procedure adopted by the roadside tyre wallah could do damage. and while driving thru India, can we expect to find the m/c at all tyre shops ?
btw, what FE do you get in Blore ? I get 12kmpl and 16kmpl in city and highway respectively (both with a/c on).
you had asked about my driving style. i am not sure how to describe that. in the city, there is not much that you can try out (more so with the cops standing at every corner with speed guns). on the highways, i drive at the max. possible speed, without being rash.

aaah..good to c another baleno on the forum....vanakkam...

Welcome aboard dude, enjoy ur stay. There are a lotta Baleno lovers arnd here, so u just add to that

Drive safe..

Thanks, karthik and balenopower.

The third thing that is booming (apart from the StockMarket and RealEstate) is Baleno sales.
Gotta mention what happened yesterday evening.

I was driving home from work and was at a signal waiting for the light to go green.
A guy on a Pulzar pulled over by my side and signalled me to lower the windows.
When I lowered the windows, this guy asked me how much mileage I get and
about the performance of the car. Since I had done similar enquiries with
many car owners before buying my car, I could understand and replied to his
questions. He said he was buying the Baleno the next day and wanted to confirm.
I told him that he could go ahead without any worries.

It was then I noticed that this guy looked vaguely familiar. But since I could not actually
place him, I told him that I seem to have seen him somewhere.
He replied that he was a VJ on SS Music TV channel. And then it struck me
that he was VJ Craig of that channel.

Craig, if you are reading this, "Have fun with the Baleno. It is one helluva car".

Samurai & other Baleno owners, a query for you.
I did not find the headlights of my baleno that impressive (i mean the light it sheds).
Is it just me or is it a fact ? Did you guys stick to the stock lamps or go in for some more brighter bulbs ?
