Re: Ritz Zxi review- One year full of smiles

Summed up the strengths and weaknesses quite nicely. Congrats. Me too planning to buy a hatchback. Zeroed in on Ritz ZXI and waiting for the new Swift. My daily drive is 70 km. Would it make sense to go for diesel? It must be capable of doing 120 km/hr consistently on expressways.

If you are doing 70 kms daily, then it would be better to go for a diesel. Here's a sample calculation:-
1. Total kms in a year = 70x365 = 25550kms

2. Assuming an average of 18kpl for diesel & 14kpl for petrol & considering prices in Bhopal,
Cost of diesel for a year = 25550/18 x 41.6 = Rs.59049
Cost of petrol for a year = 25550/14 x 68.2 = Rs.124465
i.e difference in running cost = 124465-66435 = Rs.65416

3. Assuming that you paid a sum of Rs.1.2 lakh more for diesel, still you car will comfortably break even in two years & you will start enjoying the benefits of diesel by the 3rd year.

4. Also the present breed of diesel cars are capable of 120kmph. Drive safe

The car comes with a normal rear view mirror. Presently I'm using the same. Planning to upgrade to an anti-glare mirror.
