Very comprehensive report about your degrade to Spark.Nice looking car
I have this issue now.During A/c recharge at the Chevy auhorised service centre, the mechanic delivered my Chevy Spark 2009 with a broken Temperature knob.He said they have no spares. If required,he will replace the whole control assembly costing~₹3000(as per price list).
Now I am trying to source it and do a small DIY job.Can you suggest any place where it can be bought, like Auto spare shops etc in Mysore/Bangalore OR Online?
Thanks in advance

For one, you should try talking to the service centre given that they are the ones that broke it. They are responsible for doing the damage and should fix it without you having to pay.

As for the part, try asking at some FNG since they have a lot of networks in sourcing parts. Genuine parts for the spark are not that expensive but if only one knob is broken, DIY would be better. Do post a pic of the issue you are having. Whether Just the knob is broken or the electronics inside it?

Re: Moved from a Honda City to Chevy Spark! Learnings from the downgrade

Thanks for the quick reply.I tried asking the centre to replace the knob only,as otherwise Ac is just fine{ mine is a low usage car}.Even that knob issue they were not interested to help. They had no other old spares.
So,as suggested I will try with some FNG for the knob.I will post pic of the same tomorrow morning.
PS:Just the Temperature knob is broken.Electronics portion is not harmed.

Sorry for delayed reply..Enclosed is the pic of A/C console.First knob from right is Tempr Control knob.Other two pics give the design of the knob.See the central white bush is broken. Its level is flush with the knob surface,as can be seen.
Note: Pictures are a bit hazy as shot by Mobile and in low light(Garage)

The part seems highly specialised unless it is a common size shared with other cars. Maybe your best bet would be to find the part from a Junkyard from a wrecked car maybe? Or check the knobs for a popular maruti model that could maybe fit.

Re: Moved from a Honda City to Chevy Spark! Learnings from the downgrade

In my opinion this type of knob seems to be present in other cars like Maruti,Santro etc.
I checked with general auto spare shops nearby and they don't have it. Now I propose to try at Maruti spare parts store and take their suggestion.
As you suggested, I will try to check at the Gujari( junk parts market) also.
Thank you agambhandari sir. Will keep you posted

Happy to help. Do update your experience here. Even my air directing knob has been stuck at foot vents open.
No need to call me sir, I'm just 23.
