Sorry if I have missed, what is the odometer of the Alto?

Anurag.
Its at 52,000 KM.
Indeed a very sad moment.

I am also planning to sell my two-wheeler(TVS Wego). I haven't been using it much these days.

Sorry to hijack this thread but I have a question,

Two colleagues of mine have Alto LXi with one being 2009 monel and the other 2010 model where both have clocked 25K kms with a common problem, 'vibrations at idle RPM'. No accessories, No A/C is ON but the car vibrates. Both cars give an FE of 20 kmpl.

A minor tap on the accelerator pedal, and tge vibration disappears making the car silky smooth. If the accelerator is not pressed, it feels like a RTC bus due to the vibrations but the same car with mild throttle raises thoughts if the engine is running or no.

Now AFAIK, could this be due to worn out engine mounts?

Thanks in advance.

^^^

Ask them to check car's Idle RPM. If it is on lower side, engine will produce vibrations.

AFAIK this vibration is due to the 3 cylinder engine of the alto. The 3 pots can not hold a candle to the 4 pots in engine NVH. Vibration at low rpms, a thrummy sound on acceleration, shaking when turning on or off are common characteristics of 3 cylinder engines. Our A-Star (now sold) would even shame a Piaggio Ape while idling athe the traffic lights. We have to live with the characteristics of a 3 cylinder one else we have to upgrade to bigger engine 4 pots and better cars.
