One thing i forgot to mention;in 45 days of ownership and purchase period.

Viraat has been really helpful;those unending discussions regarding 124/220 over phone and whats app.

Thanks a lot mate;i owe you one.

Congrats Akshay on the W124 - love these old Mercs. They have a charm of their own. If possible - would recommend you change to the original 8-spoke alloys.

Congrats boss. this is a lovely purchase. You've given her some well needed TLC as well.

btw, I'm not sure you posted the after images as well. please do that!

Thats a beauty! In a beautiful shade as well! Perfect.

With proper care and attention to detail - I truly believe this car has the potential to look one of the best Merc on our roads - the current generation Mercs can't hold a candle against the timeless design of the W124.

Thanks.
Tyres are last on my list for now;and the original alloys are hard to come by.
Honestly i dont mind these, since they look subtle without being too bling, and not to mention these are OEM Mercedes Benz wheels, and not some cheap aftermarket add on's.

It's threads like these that reignite the desire to own the W124. Would have almost bought one few times in past if the 'this is the one' feeling had happened.

For a car that is 18 years old these well taken mercs age very well & don't trouble you much. Congrats & wish you many many happy miles on the last true blue merc ever built.

Thanks a lot sir.
Take a look around, and you will find the one you have been looking for.

Congrats on the car. This is one of those few cars which became my fav after signing up on team bhp, other ones being the GTX / S10! I love the classic, ever green looks and I was watching a youtube video, which said, "This is an over-engineered car"!

Edit:: When I have enough dough, I might own one, just cherish the feeling.

Thanks a Lot Swiftnfurious.

Meanwhile; here are the before pics, when the car came out of hibernation.
The original rims and hubcaps might still be lying somewhere; will try to get them from the ex owner. The Faded roof is prominent in these pictures.

Yup. Even with hubcaps they still looked hot. Very few of them can pull that off!

Hey Great car!
Rims suite the car well.

Thanks guys.
I plan to get a set of OEM alloys, once i get her into perfect shape.

Ran into an issue with the car; not sure if it was correlated or just a coincidence, just 72 hours after the steam cleaning, the engine started misfiring and on investigation i found no current being supplied to 1st and 4th cylinder, a look up over internet pointed to a bust ECU,which was enough to give me sleep less nights. With no option other than letting the car sit at home, i had to call a mech from NCR which is like 230kms away from me, it was a busted coil for 1st and 4th cylinder and a pair of broken Coil/Spark plug cables. She is back on her feet; and i am relieved.

PS:While she was 2 cylinders she was drinking fuel like fat elephant; giving out about 1-2KMPL:Frustrati

Just saw this!
You're welcome man. Always a pleasure to help you. I've spent so much time fixing this car and gathering information, it'll be a shame to not share.
Plus, lot of W124 experience between my dad and I, as you have surely gotten to know over the past couple of months. :p

So after having the car, up and running,it was time to get back to work and start fixing the missing bits and pieces.

1)Ignition wire cover with MB logo.

2)Breather pipe, existing one was torn at the engine head end;you can still see it in the picture with blue insulation tape.

Next in line is the fan shroud; huge in size so will need to take the car to NCR.
