City mileage

I wonder why similar cars are returning mileages that differ vastly.
I have a NHC (EXI) 35K done which is returing mileage about 12.5 in city & 15 on highways. Anything above 18 would be a dream for me.

At the same time, I use my brothers Ford ikon Flair for my long trips. In the city, that car is very average (about 9 KM's\ltr. But the moment it hits highways, mileage jumps up to 19-21 KMPL range.

Why not company can inspect the vehicles which are returning high mileages and find out the reason behind it? That could help other sufferers with law mileage.

Thank you
Prince

NHC is a king of mileage in the segment. FE is one of the main reason, why the car is so successful.

but 33 KMPL is just unbelievable.

I have seen NHCs getting 18 KMPL in city, but 33 is !!!!

Though 33 seems a tad high, Honda's are known to surprise with their mileage. On a recent trip I got between 15 and 17 kmpl from the Civic. And that is a lot more than the claimed highway average.
