Re: The story of Baahon, my Ford EcoSport 1.5 TDCi | EDIT: 2,00,000 KMs Update

Wonderful travelogue ABHI_1512, loved it !
The best Ford had offered in India was the EcoSport 1.5D BS IV version. The punch, power, pickup , maneuverability and compactness of the car is a sheer joy - within city limits as well as on the highways. Easily maintains a speed of ~120KMPH with 5 adults and weekend luggage in boot, giving an astounding 17 KMPL (City) - 20 KMPL (Highway) mileage. What more do you want of a car ? Ford, please come back and make such beasts for the jungle called Indian roads.

200,000 kms and still going strong!! More then the miles you have munched, credit goes more for your patience and loyalty. Phulbani looks to be in a very picturesque area of Odisha. Will certainly plan something in case we take our vehicle to Bhubaneshwar.
Many more happy miles ahead of you.

Hi Abhi.
Greetings from a fellow Ecosport owner, trying to maintain his car to the best of his limited knowledge. I have a 2018 Diesel, odo stands at over 2,10,000 at the time of writing this. I have recently gotten the EGR cleaned, now thinking of getting some new transmission oil, just like you did for Baahon. While going through the above post, I noticed that the owner's manual you referred to was indeed for Ecosport diesel, 2.1l of transmission fluid is mentioned. However, the ASC manual appears to be for the Endeavour. The oil quantities and engine capacity are much higher.

Am I missing something? Was the transmission oil grade indeed revised? Any help would be appreciated!!

Hi DrAakash, great to see another Ecosport doing what it does best- munching miles. You have quite rightly observed that the ASC manual is of Endeavour. Actually, the thing is, Ford ASS uses Mercon brand for AT transmission now and Servo/ Mercon for the manual ones. The specification has to match the API GL4 standard which incidentally is the one which was used on my Ecosport. The oil is same for the Endeavour and Ecosport is what the ASS told me and it’s the quantity which differs. I checked and found out that it was indeed the case. As of now, I am not having issue. Hope this helps.

Re: The story of Baahon, my Ford EcoSport 1.5 TDCi | EDIT: 2,00,000 KMs Update

Congratulations on hitting the 2,00,000 kms mark with Baahon. I must tell you that I am a sedan guy and I was in the market for a used car, and after coming across this thread bought a Ecosport, 2015 diesel that had done about 55000 kms. This was in October, 2023. The car has done about 80,000 kms now and its truly fantastic. Thank you for this thread. I have fantastic memories with this car already. My wife and I usually travel in it and she prefers this over our 5th Gen City. My dad prefers this over the City as well due to the fantastic AC that it comes with. The foldable back seats has allowed me to travel with my road bike and has really opened up a different world. The car drives incredibly well and is easy to maintain as well.

Many many thanks for the prompt reply Abhi!
Gonna go ahead with Castrol FE75 or Mannol 8115 (both compliant with the M2C200-D2) standard.
