re: Live, Laugh, Linea (T-JET) @ 109000 km | 11 years with Fiat Linea T-Jet | Ownership review Very nice post and a beautifully maintained Linea Tjet by @abhi_tjet. The Locations between Mumbai and Pune as background adds to its beauty.
Went through this thread and was happy to see lot of similiarities in the ownerships and the connect of the owners to their Fiat cars.
Myself was attracted towards the Linea T-Jet during 2018 when I was looking for my first car. But for some prudence after long years in studies and the perception that a small hatch is better for a first car and for better manoeuvering and for parking troubles in city meant I had settled for the smaller sibling Fiat Punto Evo 1.3 Multijet Emotion. There were good discounts on Fiat cars then and mine has come with over a lakh in discount. Overall purchase experience was good. An equivalent topend diesel hatch will cost over 10 Lakhs now.
Late in 2018 when the Punto/Urban Cross buying process was goining on, the news of Fiat's plans to exit were trickling in. There was more coverage on the exit one day before my car delivery. Nevertheless went ahead with the purchase.
Now nearly after 3 years of ownership and only 11K on Odo thanks to the Covid and Lockdowns, It still feels a great purchase for someone who just keeps thinking on Cars. Little ownership summary: While it is sluggish due to higher weight and not so great gear shifts, you just love it for the Highway rides with its handling and stability. Some minor scratches and dents thanks to the Auto/Ace drivers (one within 24 hrs of purchase) had to be taken care. Had one issue with the Parking Brake not engaging which was replaced under warranty. It also looks to age well. From the pictures posted by others I am confident it can be maintained for 10 years subject to availability of spares and parts. Its definately a good car for its price. Has the required features and comfort. Sad to see Fiat stop sales in India (But Fiat why.....). Hoped to see Argo and Tipo......
The problem now is the Dealership from which I purchased and serviced my Punto well (AV Motors) has shutshop recently. They were good bunch of people and will miss them. Now as a result Hyderabad now has only one dealership and service station for Fiat/Jeep. Any pointers from Hyderbad Fiat owners on how the service experience is now will help.
But with Ford with comparitively higher sales also exiting, Indian market seems to be difficult for most manufacturers.
Some images during initial days
Tear drop shape from the top. That design language goes with the other parts like Rear View Mirrors, Head lamps, Door Handles as was more prominent in the earlier Grande Punto. |
