Is Anil Auto Care good for Hyundai cars? I have a i20 automatic. I used to go to Tune Up Plus (Lonkar) at Balewadi, but he has retired.

Hi, I have generally seen multiple non FIAT cars with him. I will advise you to visit once and check if he is confident enough in handling queries for a Hyundai.

You can also visit Shetty garage, Vishal Nagar. It’s an old multi car workshop spread in huge area. I have visited them once and they were quite good in answering queries.

Though I haven’t got any work done from them, I know quite a few people who are happy with the garage service.

Sky moto team calls me at least twice a year to check on where do I get the service done from and why don’t I visit them?

Unless you have a warranty replacement, there is no point visiting Sky moto. They are just overburdened technicians in a really congested place with targets to meet irrespective of the job needed on the car.

Maintenance update

Not much driving since Linea isn’t my primary (city) car nowadays. However, there is an update on maintenance front though.

Left suspension was making slight noise on going over potholes. The noise wasn’t from strut pads and suspension is new since I recently replaced the front ones. My bet was on lower arm and I took the car yesterday to Anil.

After a quick test drive, he confirmed the same and a new lower arm was ordered and replaced promptly.

Alternator repair and window winder motor replacement is still pending. This year looks like Linea maintenance year.
Odometer is at 104xxx.

105000 kms update



Linea went for some long due maintenance activities after Diwali and got below things fixed.

• Alternator repair
• Left rear window winder motor replacement.
• Remote key button repair.
• Boot lever lock minor adjustment.

Above activities costed me somewhere around ₹8k.

Got the wheel rotated, balanced and aligned from Darshan tyres, Baner and they did a good job like always.

Finally, got the Linea washed and cleaned thoroughly at Aquatint since the car was at garage for quite a few days.

Once the repair work was completed, we planned a trip to Ganpatipule with Linea to provide it with its share of highway drive and I must say I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Sir did you replace control arm of left side only?

I too had to replace the right control arm of punto and was told that it is okay to replace just one and not necessary to replace them in pairs by the SA. They replaced the strut and control arm from right side only, although I insisted to change on both sides. Is it okay or was I mislead?

The Belgaum service center has good reviews hence I didn't bother much at that time.

Yeah, I only replaced the left lower arm. Right one seems good for now. I doubt if these are needed to be changed in pair.

11 years & 1.09 lac kms update



My Linea completed 11 years of ownership earlier this month. Since I have already spent quite a bit of moolah in maintenance last year, instead of gifting something, thought of taking it for a 3500kms road trip.

There was a marriage in family and Linea with its massive boot and its ability to gobble kms (which Jimny can only dream of) without a fuss was chosen for the task.

I am happy to report that Linea performed flawlessly and handled the temperature variations of 3 to 40 degree C with aplomb.

The TJet engine still delivers a smooth yet urgent acceleration and masks speed dangerously.

11 key points to highlight after 11 years

1. Linea is completely rattle free as long as we don’t keep any loose items.
2. No sign of wear or tear on gear lever or leather steering.
3. ACC works like a charm. I haven’t even got an AC gas refill till now.
4. Most of the replacement were proactive rather than reactive.
5. Breaks and suspension are superlative. It still feels like a tank. Drove Jimny after a fortnight and realised how flat Linea rides. Rear suspension are still stock.
6. Blue&Me only works for phone calls though. It doesnt charge phone or play songs from phone over data connection .
7. The boot is humongous and has been put to work/test multiple times in 11 years.
8. The twin rear fog lamp was put to good use in the foggy weather of Rajasthan and Punjab. All the lights are stock and I haven’t upgraded any bulb in headlights.
9. I have a trusty FNG in Anil and I haven’t found any maintenance related problem till now.
10. Continental UC6 tyres which I bought in May 23 completed 20k kms and are going good with no punctures yet.
11. Yes, It still turn heads. A fuel pump operator in Punjab was calling Linea as Tarzan car(might be due to similar colour). While refuelling, he asked me , ‘Is this FLAT’? He pronounced FIAT as flat.
12. Bonus point - Both the car I own were rarely spotted on highways or internal roads. The fingers on my hands are more than the total number of Jimny and Linea combined were spotted in my 3500 km road trip.

The odo shot at the end of the trip. Total distance covered was around 3450 kms and overall true economy was in excess of 14kmpl. Return distance was less than onward due to different route selection.

Congratulations! This thread is a testimony to both the tjet and your ownership skills!

Try connecting an iphone to Blue&Me - it plays via USB and playlist will feature in the instrument console. I connect my iphone 15 to play songs on Apple Music via usb connected to stock HU. The phone will show a charging symbol, but does not charge or deplete. The music quality imo is the best when played from usb. Also have been using this set up with various ipod touch devices over the years.

I can relate to your experience Abhi. Own a Punto MJD which is doing the 16th year of its duty, Odo at 1.14 lakh kms and still drives like it used to in Day 1 of purchase. I have a trusted FNG who have been doing a very good job in the maintenance and the average yearly maintenance cost is about Rs.9000 since the last 8 years. It is our primary beater car inside the city now. Wish you many years of trouble free ownership with your brilliant machine which you have maintained so well.

Actually, the OEM Blue&Me conked off a year back. My FNG has put a refurbished piece which stopped the irritating blinking and lets the calls through but somehow iPhone isn’t identified as usb. It plays the music from pen-drive though. I have requested him to do some r&d and enable at least the charging function since OEM unit was able to do this all.
