Hi Fellow Scorpers,
My scorpio went for 70 K servicing today at the FNG at 70864 kms. This is the same FNG from where
GD gets his scorpio serviced.
Complaints:
1.. Regular Servicing
2. Chak-Chak noise coming from propeller during de-acceleration
3. Coolant refill box was getting empty in 15-20 days, some leak somewhere
Following work was done:
1. Oil filter and Diesel filters were changed
2. Air filter was cleaned
3. Engine oil replaced
4. Wiper blades were checked and advised to replace. Will be doing it one of these days prior to monsoon. Need to find out from where I can procure Bosch wipers.
5. Oil levels (PS, brake, etc.,) checked. No need for top-up or replacement
6. Battery was checked and water topped-up
7. Brakes checked and found ok
8. All nut bolts tightened
9. All belts' tension checked and found ok
10. Greasing done
11. coolant was found to be leaking somewhere near engine, fixed and topped up
12. rear brake light bulb was fused, replaced
13. Washing done
14. A/c was checked, Gas was less hence topped up.
I had reached the FNG at 9.40 am. Job card was opened and complaints/points noted. Work started at 9.45 am. One guy worked on the propeller shaft and the other guy worked on the other points. All work completed by 11.30 am. Had to wait for the washing. Washing and A/c Gas top up completed by 1..00pm. Took the Scorpio out for a test drive with FNG owner to check the chak-chak noise. Found no noise and beast running smoothly. Settled the bill and was out by 1.15 pm.
I had visited the FNG earlier last week for the chak-chak noise. Was advised to get a Propeller Shaft Cross which I picked up from Mahindra Authorised Spare Parts dealer in Gurgaon.
Same day had picked up 6 litres of Chevron Delo-400 from the Authorized dealer in Gurgaon. As Delo-400 comes in 10 or 15 litre bucket. The dealer had openend a sealed 10-litre bucket in front of me and from that had given me 6 litres. The MRP on the 10-litre bucket was Rs. 2280/- and after negotiation I got it for Rs. 200/litre.
Expenses:
1. Oil Filter - Rs. 120/-
2. Diesel Filter - Rs. 110/-
3. Distilled Water - Rs. 10/-
4. Brake Light bulb - Rs. 10/-
5. AC Gas top-up - Rs. 400/-
6. Propeller Shaft Cross Labor - Rs. 200/-
7. Servicing - Rs. 450/-
8. Propeller Shaft Cross (Purchased separately) - Rs. 380/-
9. Delo 400 6 litres (purchased separately) - Rs 1200/-
TOTAL - Rs. 2880/-
Regards,
Rohit
