Hi Bhpians,
I booked the Swift VDi in first week of July'07, expected delivery was in mid August, but got delayed because of some issues from the financer.
I got the delivery of my Swift VDi after a long wait of 8 weeks in First week of Sepetmber '07. I had booked a RED Swift, which according to the dealer was the best seller.
It was really a quick decesion for me to choose the car I wanted this time. I had to choose form the Diesels available, the only hatches were Indica and Swift. My dad owns a Indigo, which sound more so like a mini truck right after 10K KMS.
Switching from my Esteem VX - 2001 to a Swift VDi, the shift from a petrol to a DiESEL is defintly feeling great. I dont know why but Diesel give me a feeling of power and grunt.
Anyways I ll talk about the car now.
Delivery - Dealership
Got the car at Vipul Motors faridabad, The service was pretty promt but never accurate, they always missed something or the other. Just to quote an example, I had to get the car into washing 3 times before it could be perfect shiny clean. On top of that the inside was still dirty.
The Car
I had test driven the car about 2 months back and did remember the power at 2k RPM, I didnt try hard with my new car though but managed to touch 110 - 120 easily with that awsome feeling :Shockked: at above 2k RPM.
Milage
The dealer had filled 5 liters Diesel, I filled another Rs.500 = 16.40 ltr(normal) diesel, The car ran for well over 320KM with 100% AC, mostly highway driving. I drive at the Dwarka to Gurgaon + NH8.
Although I did not get any buzzer for low fuel but still I thought it was time for a refill. After some calculations it gave me about 18KPL.
Feeling
Driving the car is just so much fun. I try and get to the 3rd gear asap to feel that torque again and again. It just pleasure owning this machine. Also Red being one of the hottest colors in Swift, it just does enough to turn the heads.
Probelms
Nothing major just that there is some rattling sound from the rear, I will get that checked in the first service.
Upgrades/Accessories (everything under planning right now) 1. Tyres - Definitly need beeter tyres and a set of alloys to go along.
2. ICE - Got a budget of about 30K+ for the install
Pio HU
Illusion/Infinity/JBL/RF - COMPO for front
nothing in the rear doors
Kenwood/PIO/Sony/JBL - SUB
JBL/Alpine - 4 ch AMP - dedicated for SUB
JBL/Alpine - 2ch AMP - for the COMPO
I would continue posting more about my drive,
MODS if you can please let this post alive I would continue with it for the comming weeks atleast till my 4th Free Service (3 from Maruti and 4th from Vipul Motors)
Will upload the pics in couple of hours, waiting for my cell phone to charge.

Who is Vipul?
Hi Sudhir, Congrats for your new Swift D. Great car, notwithstanding the slightly claustrophobic interiors.

And it is the wonderful 'torque' delivery of diesel engines that gives this extraordinary 'driveability' to them. I enjoy a similar feeling in my Scorpio, though it is not nearly as peppy as the Swift.
Enjoy your new love!

@Jaggu - No Problems, mayb It was late
Its really been a pleasureful week of driving the car.
I am not so sure if the car really has a low feul warning, I assume it should be a standard in all cars.
I will keep posting my experience with the Drive and other realted aspects. I have clocked 480 KMS in this first week. Will be going on a long drive to Chandigarh and Sukhna Lake etc.. Next week probably. I am sure I would have another long review to write about.
I dont yet have a BHP Garage so here are the Pics of my Love

No it doesnot have, i had 2.5L left and there was no lamp buzzing or blinking. Filled 40.5liters of diesel.
DO upgrade to wider rubber and add a Petes box, then its going to be killer.
Another one bites the swift D dust. Congrats on the new car, sudhir. :)
Congrats for your new Swift VDi.......Enjoy

sudhir_nyc : Busa is correct : It does not have any kind of buzzer... I found it hard way ... just kept on thiking about the buzzer and ran out of fuel on a busy flyover at peak hrs in delhi.
stupid:
sudhir_nyc,
Congratulations on your desirable acquisition! Red is one of the best looking colors but do take good care of that paint, else it would have faded visibly in a year's time.
