Honda City ZX VTEC : 30000 km Report

Hi guys,
Its high time i wrote something about my Honda City ZX VTEC

How I got the car :

September 2006 ( My Birthday) : Officially my learner's license is made ( Though i drove without it and never caught due to the fact i looked bigger than my age )

October 2006 : License in my hand. Esteem always with me now.

November 2006 : Esteem needs some big service ( Overhaul etc.)
Decide to buy a new car

I was hell bent on taking the Civic ( it was not that old that time)
Dad told me a maximum of 9 lakhs to be spent on the car + 25000 on ICE and all

December 2006 , Though we had the OHC vTec , i did not like the NHC Vtec somehow. Did not give me the feel that the older one gave.

December 2, 2006
Dad says we will buy the Honda City ( as he was happy with the reliability of a honda)

December 4, 2006

Go to see the colours and all
and finalized the Golden Honda City VTEC

December 7,2006
Get the delivery of the car on time. All's well that ends well

ICE : Its not worth boasting about. Nothing great
Have a pioneer bluetooth HU, pioneer bass tube, TS 20 tweeters and some speakers. an amp ( a friend gave it to me , never heard about the company too )and a 12 Disc CD Changer

MILEAGE till 15000 kms
12 kmpl in city a/c on
13-13/5kmpl in city with a/c off

16kmpl on highway with a/c on
18kmpl on highway with a/c off

Maximum Speed driven : 190 kmph. ( Beanstalk_230 was with me and he was driving , I have done 186-187 (have a video of the same )

15000 Kms : Get the air filter changed to Stock replacement K & N

TYRES :
25000 kms : get my tyres replaced

Michelin XM1+ ( 195/60R14 ) Really like the tyres.

Incidents with tyres : Once a car accessory shop guy hit something pointed hard in it ( Claimed the repairing charges from the guy )
Same Tyre : Once was driving with a friend in Lajpat nagar , A scooterist suddenly turned his scooter , in order to avoid him had to turn right due to which my tyre ran hard into a pointed thing on the pavement) Tyre Damage again

The servicing has never been much an issue to me. not much
disc brakes recently replaced for around 6500 or 7000 bucks ( Dont remember)

The car currently gives me :
12-13 kmpl with a/c on in city
13-14 kmpl without a/c in city

16kmpl with a/c on highways
18kmpl without a/c on highways

Present Scenario

The car is good to use in city. Easily maneuverable in the city.
I dont really like the very light steering.
The visibility of the rear is good but i hate the A-Pillar which is a lot of problem in the city streets. The ridess good though doesn't eat up the bumps really well

The ground clearance is good but with a fully loaded car, it does scrape some of the speed breakers.
Comfortable for 5 easily even with me driving with my seat fully back.
The boot is great, spacious.

The a/c is good but sometimes cooling takes a bit time.
The head lights are good but not that great

Overall Car Rating : 8/10

Dealership verdict :

Work done is good however takes time. During the 1st service, they did not do proper cleaning of the car. i scolded the manager and many people. Now its a lot better. Getting good service from them. If time is an issue with me, they even drop the car back home after service.

Have taken extended warranty for the car.

Accessories Currently Installed :
Rain Wisor
Plastic Foot mats
Artificial reflector above the lights on the back.
Side Step Garnish
Reversing parking sensor ( with an add on rear view mirror)
Side Protectors on the bumpers
Sunfilm ( Dont remember the company)

Future Modifications
Xenon Headlamps ( on the Low Beam )
Free Flow Exhaust
Better Spark Plugs
Some other performance mods .
ICE UPGRADE ( Subwoofer, amp - 4 channel , components)
Alloys Change ( maybe 15 inchers)

Love the Dragon - The Golden Dragon!!!( That's What i call her)
