IMHO, I don't think the pics do justice to the car or the paint job.

Phoenix is my personal favorite among the restorations on TBHP. So if you gotta sell it, sell it to someone who will take good care of it.

Nice rebuild and tastefully done.. Congrats. Do you get projector lamp setup for Lancers? if you do, makes sense to put them on.. would look scorcher. I agree with you on the engine.. no matter what you do you cant make the 4G15 as good as the chassis. Keep the car, put in a MIVEC and turbo charge it.. you are set for a long time. RPW has a lot of interesting upgrades for 4G15 check it out.

very well kept and restored. Nice paint job too. Don't sell and go the mivec way you will never want to sell.

Yup, got your PM. Don't think I'll be making this meet - am recovering at home from a back surgery. But we'll definitely catch up soon. Looking forward to seeing your Verna's pics.

You get reflector headlight setups for Lancers, which look like projectors - the "angel eyes" type. But they have poor light throw and are unreasonably expensive. Hence, I have stayed away from them.
I've pretty much memorized everything there is on the RPW site - it's a good guide. I've even corresponded with Dave Thomas who runs RPW, and he is also of the opinion that a 4G15 wasn't meant to be a performer.
Turbo is not on my wishlist (reliability issues). A MIVEC though is very much on the list

Give Phoenix the engine it deserves. Don't even think of selling it - its a beautiful car.

Was told of one lying around with one of the car breakers. Have to go in person to check if its the 4G92 or 4G63. On second thoughts why not the 4G63?

Wouldn't really be worth it on a FWD car, and I am not considering an AWD conversion. A 4G92 would be more than adequate!

Razor,

your project on the Phoenix is really awesome, most detailed thread i have read on TBHP, frankly speaking, reading your threads influenced me in pursuing my long term wish, owning a customized street car.

I have recently acquired a second hand lancer (GLXi 2001 Petrol) and have already given it in the chop shop to start work on.

I will be studying your threads and advice in detail and would appreciate if your would provide any tidbit's which may help me progress on my car.

Cheers!
