My Bass Machine. WagonR : 2 yrs, 35k Kms Back in October 2007, Dad got fed up going to his office on my bike when I used to ask for his car (Our good old ’96 800) & reached a mutual agreement to get a new ride after a week long discussion. Keeping the budget & parking constraints in mind, we decided to get a hatch. Now, Dad is a VP of a Maruti Dealership and ruled out all the possibilities of buying a car which is not from their stable. After another week’s fight among different brochures, mom finally won the battle & we bought home a Silky Silver Maruti Suzuki WagonR VXi on 5 November 2007.
For 3 months, I saved cash & got her ICEd. There were some initial hiccups but got them sorted. Thanks to fellow BHPians I met on another social-networking site. Following is the stuff that went in. - Head unit: Kenwood KDC-MP4036U (front USB-In),
- Mid-bass: Kenwood KFC-HQ718EX 6"X9" Speakers for rear-fill
- Highs: Kenwood KFC-1056 front in-dash speakers,
- Amp: Kenwood Class-D Monoblock KAC 8103D (500 W RMS@2 Ohms),
- Sub: Kenwood KFC-W3514DVC in MDF Ported enclosure tuned to 38.6 Hz,
- Port: AZ Audiocomp AR 80V,
- RCA: Connection Audison FT2-600,
- Power: Connection Audison FPK600 (4-Guage)
- Damping: Hatch & front doors damped with AZ audiocomp damping sheets
Saved some more money over a period of time & got the following things installed - 6000K Philips HID Conversion Kit
- Mobil1 Supersyn 5W50 Oil
- Green Nano Storm Air induction kit
Since then, her odo reads 35000+ kms. She has been to places like Amritsar, Lansdowne, Alwar, Haridwar, Rishikesh, Agra (Twice) etc. and has never let me down except once (I managed to hit a pointed stone in Sariska breaking the oil chamber). There are some obvious rattles thanks to the ICE & the bad roads in Eastern Delhi but the engine still sounds good. I am still running on stock tires & only plan to upgrade when they are worn out.
