Hankook Ventus V12 Evo are good - probably my next set will be these from my present set of Hankook Ventus R-S2.

V12 Evo in a Palio S10, wrapped around BBS alloys:

You may also try these: Maxxis MA-Z1 (size: 225-60-15), running in my friend / a BHPian's Accord

My cousin's cedia has Hankook v12 evo on it. Very good tires, I must say. They are definitely cheaper than the competition and the grip levels are very good. Also, the side wall is much stronger than the S-Drives on my ride.

Hi Akshay,

I need your advice to make this decision:
Retain Honda Accord 3.0 V6 (2005 model 86,000kms driven) or Buy a New Rapid Elegance TDI and fit a tuning box
Duration before next change: 4 Yrs : Kms per Yr: 12,000 (75% City & 25% Highway) :-
Honda Accord: (No Cost assumed as I own it)
Mileage: 7 Kms/Lt (8-9 on highway & 6-7 in city) – Spend on Fuel over 4 yrs: 5.5 Lakhs
Service, Repair & Insurance costs over 4 years: (Assuming 60,000 per year & 12,000 per year insurance) – 3 Lakhs
Resale Value (Assumed): 1,50,000/-
Net Effect: 7,00,000 /-
Skoda Rapid: (Cost 11, 50,000/-)
Mileage: 14 Kms/Lt (17 on highway & 12 in city) – Spend on Fuel over 4 yrs: 2.5 Lakhs
Service, Repair & Insurance costs over 4 years: (Assuming 15,000 per year & 25,000 per year insurance) – 1.5 Lakhs
Resale Value (Assumed): 5, 00,000/-(Will be set off towards balance loan amount)
Net Effect: 10,50,000 /-
Thus, Retaining Accord even with the mileage and maintenance is saving me 3.5 Lakhs, So really confused on what to do, I have a daily running of 25 kms in the city to office and back and a highway trip 4 times a year.
Please suggest if the above calculation is right? Have I missed anything? What will be the best way forward?

Yeah, that's what I thought too but folks over Accord forums keep referring to it as a Sway bar.

Have had the car for exactly 3 years, and its not even given up on me once. No major problems whatsoever, and only one problem that actually got me worried.

If all goes according to plan, this will be my last 6 months with the car, and I will be sad to let it go. But change is a must.

Have had my accord v6 now for 4 years (2009) and done 55000 km on it. The baby still feels brand new except for a slight loosening of the steering wheel. So far nothing has given up on me except the tyres :) , which is quite expected on the v6, especially when you drive with the paddle shifts. Have changed 3 rounds of tyres so far. The pick up of the v6 has not slowed down at all and is still very addictive. Not sure how many people noticed an A class merc that was on sale in this site.. That was mine and the main for that was the v6. Having gotten used to the accord, the a class really felt bullock cart slow and I actually took it back to the dealer to get the engine checked. Just under 30 Lakhs for both as landing costs but one can't compare the driving comfort or fun. Ofcourse the A class turns 10times more heads than the accord. Considering selling the accord, but not sure what I can get for under 30lakhs that is as much fun to drive and as comfortable to sit behind when I am not driving. Any suggestions?

Well the obvious upgrade would be the Superb 3.6 V6. Though I hear different things, that it is discontinued while some say it is built to order. Do visit your Skoda dealer and check out whether there are any in stock in the country, or whether they can get one made for you.

The other option I would say is the Passat. Compared to the V6 it may not be as quick, but will certainly have far superior dynamics and stability. A remap will bring that upto about 200+ bhp which would make it that much more fun to drive.

No other cars which can really be considered for what you want.

Did the car came with that Spoiler or you got it added at Showroom?

Good to know, I have a 2008 Accord V6 as well. The US ones didn't come with spoiler hence asked :)

Always faced an issue with the brakes becoming a bit spongy after driving in traffic for a while. Don't know why it didn't occur to me till now that it may be the fluid. Bought Dot 4 plus Febi fluid and put it in yesterday. Hopefully it should sort the issue out. Also sent the car to Honda for a general check up, and a suspension retorque. There was a tiny rattle from the glovebox, which I have sorted out now. Surprisingly for a Jap, the car still does feel almost as good as new, except the engine which feels better than when I got it.

I bought it used last year but the Accord V6 EX-L with Navigation(My Model) was sold for around $31,000. Even the latest one I believe is around $32,000
