Re: Swift Dzire VXi 17,000 km ownership thread

i was wearing seat belts, so i did was not hurt. But, my mother who was sitting next to me hates seat belts and due to inertia, she banged on the dashboard. She got out with a minor sprain. Thank God.
Even i thought initially there wasn't much damage. But when i took the car to maruti Suzuki, they showed me many more things that had been damaged. The headlights look ok, but they have been broken from the inside. The back part of the lights rammed into the fender.
I dont know whether you noticed this, but the fender is bulging out. I just called up spectra motors to ask them about the progress of the car, he said he'll call me back in some time.

Congrats on getting your baby back to having a spotless complexion. What were the charges that insurance didn't cover?

Hi Dmehta, sad to hear about your mishap.

Good to hear that the car is back in pristine condition, how much time did they took for the Denting / Painting work. The paint work looks very Good.

Re: Swift Dzire VXi 17,000 km ownership thread

Hi team,
I was going through the various dzire and swift threads on tbhp and i came across something called the brake booster. I read that maruti was offering it free of cost to the customers who had their cars still under warranty. I had opted for extended warranty while booking the car itself, and on one or two occasions i found the braking to be quite inadequate. I was also too irritated with the consistent problem of rattling throughout the car from some place or the other. I got too frustrated and sent this email to maruti Suzuki. Maruti is known for their after sales reliability and so, they courteously replied.
here is the email i had sent,

I own a 2008 Swift Dzire vxi. The registration number is ***
the braking system is very inefficient as many other swift owners have complained. I heard that maruti Suzuki has been offering the new brake booster to cars which are under warranty. I have the extended warranty booklet and other papers of the car in order and the extended warranty expires on 13.8.2011.
Hence, it would be of great help if you would help me with the problem of inefficient braking. Another issue which i have been facing from before the first service is the rattling noises throughout the car. I understand that maruti Suzuki is a known brand for making affordable cars with good fuel efficiency, but that does not mean that you should cut costs in the built quality of the car. The rattling issues were solved temporarily but time and again i have been hearing sounds throughout the car. My car has run just nearly 18000kms and even my friend's Hyundai Getz which has 45000 plus on the odometer does not rattle at all. I am very displeased with the built quality and it would be helpful if you could do something about it. The authorized maruti Suzuki service centers could not even diagnose the problems. I hope you look into the matter and give me a reply as soon as possible.

DMehta

Following this, I just got a call from spectra motors. They have called my car for a check up and promised me to fix all the problems. I am supposed to take the car there on the 3rd of March. Lets wait and see what happens. I will keep updating the thread.

Hey DMehta!
Maruti Suzuki is one company which is never regular or services and nor can they diagnose the problem quickly!
After continuous requests and visits to the A.S.S., only then is your work done!

Re: Swift Dzire VXi 17,000 km ownership thread

I think the service is pretty good. The only problem is carelessness in building the car and diagnosing I do not understand why do they take Indian customers for granted. If the built quality of the car is built according to foreign road conditions, they should take pains to rebuild it according to the Indian standards.
Just because they are selling so man cars does not mean that they can alter the quality.

How did you mount navigator on dash? Normally suction stand don't mount on surface other than glass.

Detailed pictures would help as I am also trying to mount my MMI navigator.
