If u take my opinion go 4 CAMRY.
I totally agree

ur friend should go in for the VW Phaeton....That is s-class space and luxury for a little over E class Money. The 3.2 V6 sells for approx 42 L ex-Delhi

Alternatively, u could look at the Audi A6.

At 50L, you are looking at direct imports (no homologation) . so you could also look at teh BMW 5301/530D or teh Jaguar S type (the ultimate in street cred, IMHO)

Apart from teh Mercs (which are out for you), None of these cars have service centers in Hyd. The nearest you could get is Bangalore (if at all!)

O.T.- why the no to Mercs?

My friend's dad thinks mercs bring bad luck (previous experience)

So wat do you say take a lower priced car for about a year or 2 and wait for the audi and Bmw people to set shop here ???

If that is the case, go in for the Camry or the Superb..But I feel that the Camry is really overpriced and has very poor residuals. So you may also look at the Accord V6- Great car with good street cred

If looking for a cheaper car then ask your friend to have a look at Opel vectra.

still looks business and is a good car.

the vectra some how did not sell.. dont know the reason why but has a superb engine.. also i guess the BMW should fit in the budget.. regarding the 3 series BMW will import it for you.I dont think the skoda superb will fit in.. at that budget the Beemers and the Audi is a better bet.

Buying a BMW or Audi is not the problem. Servicing them is the main problem. Jango any idea when BMW and AUDI are opening showrooms in Hyderabad

Hey bro,
why not the new camry now that it has been launched? More prestige then Superb, with better ride and everything.
Otherwise go for the Superb bacause the BMW and the Audi and not meant for the chauffuer driven.

I think a car with proper service backup plus all the above mentioned things will suit him fine. And which one is it? some options come to mind:
1. Toyota Camry. 21+ Lakhs
2. Toyota Landcruiser Prado. 40+ Lakhs
3. Skoda Superb Diesel. 26+ Lakhs
4. BMW 3series Diesel. 30+ Lakhs (import)
5. Audi A4. 28+ Lakhs

These are very good cars and almost all are suitable (except imported BMW) for our road conditions.

My choice : LandCruiser Prado with a Sunroof. Why? Ask the Taliban!
