Used Mercedes Benz E270 CDI prices

Guys,

I am in the market for a E270 CDI. Seen a 2005 in New Mumbai car run 23K. Brake pads/20K service and some touchup is due, and no insurance.
The owner is qouting 32+. Given the introduction of E220 CDI is 32.5 asking right? I have estimated expense of 2 lacs as soon as I buy it what is a price limit I should set? Thx for your help

The site New Cars, Used Cars, Buy Cars, Sell Cars, New Car Prices, Used Car Prices - CarWale.com India estimates about 24.5-26.5L for the model that you have mentioned. Also their estimation is pretty accurate too.
Try it yourself

He is not transfering the current insurance, so I have to get a new policy and full premium. I will have to spend close to a 1 lac on insurance + 40K on the upcoming 2nd service, tires have gone hard so another 35k and some touch up which will set me back another 25k. So what should I offer?

Yes I have seen the carewale range Rs. 24 to 27 but is that including all the work mentioned above? Say I buy it for 27.5 I will have to spend another 2 lacs which brings the price to 29.5? Or I take 28-2= 26?

cheers

I am negotiating for a 2005 Silver single owner 20K done 270cdi. HE started with 30 but I think i can close the deal fro 23-24. Thats what I have offered him. I know that this is a good price as cars like these are not available easily and even if sites put a value for them, good, clean cars are not available. 32 in my opinion is very high. If you can get this car fro around 26-27 it should be a good deal. Trust me, you wont find a good car below this. Go to a dealer and he'll quote 30+

From what year to what year was the E270 offered in India?

The W211 came out sometime in 02 -03 IIRC.

It sure would be a great deal if you can pull it of at that price.

E270 CDi has a brilliant engine, with all the additional savings you can opt for a diesel tuning chip to make it as quick as the E280CDi ... and also get rid of those boring alloys that came on it !

@ Canonball- Continue looking around, it's not easy finding the right used car. As of now the deal you are getting ain't that special either so don't get stuck on this one. I'm sure you will find the perfect deal just keep hunting...

@Sahil - The 2005 E classes came with the newer alloys and sunroof.
The 2004 E270 had the boring alloys.

My bad, but there is never a perfect pair for stock alloys

Although the 2005 alloys are better, they arent anything special. The E has started looking a bit dated of late, a nice pair of alloys would work as botox !

Why not look at a used 523i, the car will still be under warranty and will definately fit in your budget.

I was offered a used 2007 dec car run about 5k kms for 32l negotiable. If you are interested will foward the contact details.

V16 & Sahil are you saying I draw the line at 26 to 27. I got the car checked an following is the work that needs to be done.

1). Low tone horn gone 2k
2). Tyers hard 32k (sahil I intend to put 18 incher
3). Driver door dented 10k to fix
4). Trunk has small dink 10k to fix
5). Rear brake pads will need to be replaced and 2nd service due shortly 50k
5). Insurance 80K

So if i have undertsood this my limit remains 26 to 27 despite the above expence? V16 let me know how your buy goes also can we touch base to exchange notes on more leads?

cheers

You will not get 4 18" tyres for 32k unless you're prepared to go for some Chinese/Taiwanese/Malaysian brands.

Hi iraghava, I am taking 32k as the replacement cost of the original 16inch tyres to price the car/evaluate the car an not cost of upgrading...I am sure if you read my thread from the top I sharing this to get a grip on what to offer...and since Sahil recommended new rims I put my intentions in brackets so he feels good and has a good evening/nights sleep thinking a fellow gearhead is doing the same cheers...I have seen many contributions from you on the merc front on other threads...how about some of your valuable inputs on what price to pay for the car.

Since u mentioned I see a lot of these chinese/taiwan/malay brands in the market are they really bad and do our roads deserve the hightech Michilins/Goodyears..( I had a 17inch setup on my E220 CDI and was always tiptoeing to avoid replacement cost!!)etc?? they may be good practical option as low profile tyers wearout faster than regular ones so given short replacement cycles cheaper options could make things affordable.

V16/Sahil....any tips I am meeting the owner tom to try and close it?

Good to know you are upsizing the rims A nice pair of 17inchers would do just fine too, but 18s are icing on the cake provided you do not travel on rough roads often enough.

Btw, if the rear brake pads are worn out, the front ones would be due for a change too... so consider the cost of replacing all 4 before you negociate on the price.
