S-320 2001 is offered for 23 lakhs.
done 44000 kms.
interiors are in good condition.
drives well
IS IT WORTH?
or will there be issues of mechanical problems?
or anything else that i should watch out for?

This sounds to be like the Ring Road car thats for sale.

Like pointed out by Gungir paji, please do get the service history of the car. this would be to check if any accidents have taken place, the work done on the car and when was it last serviced. this would assertain if there is any mechanical trouble in the car. These cars do not give any trouble and the parts and service costs are on the higher side compared to other cars. I would suggest if you take the car to Mercedes service center to have it checked. it would be worth the extra cost.
We have an S500 from new in the family and never had any trouble with it. it has been with us for 7 or 8 years now. These cars need their regular service and would last a very long time.
20 or 21 lacs seems to be a good price for the car, you could negotiate for it.

You'd need to be a brave man to buy this S320. The Y2000 - Y2003 S Class were amongst the most problematic. Not surprising as these were the initial production years of a highly complex car.

The additional 7 - 8 lakhs more for a 2003+ S350 will be money well spent. Get the facelift S350, it had a majority of the electrical / air suspension issues ironed out. 2004 - 2006 cars were the best and as reliable as an S-Class can be.

Is this car at the Moti Bagh Fuel Station ?? It's been up for sale for a long long time. Either the price is incorrect or there is some mechanicals that need attention. Appearance wise it is fine.

Cheers

man.. i dont know about you but I will never pay 23l for a 7-8 yr old car.

2003 sounds a bit better. Try to bargain the price down to <26l.

Beware

Never think of buying a luxury car that you cannot afford originally.
The problem for you will be the upkeep cost.Try to find out what mechanical failures the car you are planning to buy is plagued with or normally has.
Then find out the repair or spare cost.Buying a S might be cheap but keeping it running might run you in.So be careful and enjoy your ride .
Cheers

Everytime I see one of these, it's just so tempting. The W220 has unmatched style & class....heck of a set of alloy wheels on this S350L. @ Gogi : don't miss.

Have to agree here the w220 is very tempting and carries alot of style and class with it. Recently i missed a spareingly used s350l 2003 model that went for 18 lakhs. The alloys look real good but i would prefer them on a darker coloured car. I guess i would have to wait my turn to get the w220 but for now i shall settle for the w140.

If the condition was top notch, that was a heck of a deal.

Ahhh yes those are great wheels. IF and when i do get wheels i would be partial to deep dish all blacks with a chrome lip.

Thats what i am doing bhai. Your source was informed about it and the others by me only. They are holding an absurd price in mind though. The car has Amg Flat dish wheels, car phone, most of the options you can think of and is one owner. The only thing externaly missing to complete the car is the tinted film for the glasses. I like to call the car "The Yakusa" for some reason. I am still awaiting their response regarding the prices of this and the other cars.

A correction from my end guys the W220 i spoke off got sold for 16.5 lakhs and not 18 lakhs.

That is surely the best deal on a W220 ever. I am shocked. Seriously shell shocked.
Was the condition immaculate?
I mean its already discussed that the car was in top notch shape, but is the news genuine?
