Hi Guys,
I'm new to this site. I own a Indica V2 Non-Turbo model. I am interested in replacing the Air filter with K&N filter. Can anyone suggest how much is the cost and if it is really worth changing it. Also, where can I get this done in Delhi NCR region.
Many thanks
Keep modifying !!!

Hocuspocus it gives a difference with a filter but only go for K&N FIlters only....Go to Autopsyche (Arush)...As you are in gurgaon and his workshop also, so you can get good stuff......Cheers
how much does a K & N filter cost?? Hocuspocus, please let us know if it really makes a difference putting it in?
Go for an add-on kit, costs less and you can remove it anytime. Bigger alloys rec by all. Add some body graphics, again easy to remove.
But always remember for a diesel car always go for a best purifying filters like K&N and not any local filter as they will keep ur engine safe.Local filters can also cause damage to your fuel pump which happened with me too.....SO beware and enjoy too.And secondaly remember your average of the car may go down, depending upon how you drive-and speed limit will also decrease.......Cheers

hey niks can u plzzz tell how u got that grill done and can u tell....what kind of grill is that....
dude, allyou have to bo is, remove the bumper, and the stock grill, and put the wire mesh, which you can get from an average hardware shop, and stick it in place of the stick grill...but as far as i know, you will have to cut some parts from the bumper of a zen, and then put the mesh....
nikhilv12- is it that easy? i mean like how u just wrote in here?cause i 1st got mesh job done from chameleon and they totally screwed it up,they used aluminium mesh which is not what should be used for mesh, you should use mild steel, aluminium loses its shape in the long run,if u want to compromise on stuff like this its ok,go ahead, use anything[sorry,no offence,i am into detailing] or else i think you should go to a proffesional guy,i knowit would be expensive but it would be worth it, in cochin there's 1 guy called paul, the mod shop names "madaparambil".
Can we replace the Internal FM Antenna in the Indica with an External one for better clarity and range? How much would it cost?

dude, i am just a student, and my pockets are not deep enough to spend 3k for a wire mesh on my car, so i did it myself...
and for the long run, i wouldnt mind changing the mesh, like every 3 or 4 months!!!!!!!!!!
nikhilv12-thats the point,3 to4 times or more than that would reach the same figure ,anyway, looks like you enjoying it so no problem carry on, cheers mate.
hey not using a good quality grill will cause it to corrode easily on frequent wash of the car...

Hey Carlover,
Thanks for your reply and inputs. Can you please provide me with the exact address/phone number inorder to locate the dealer.
Also, in regards to your post saying that installing K&N filter will decrease mileage/speed of the car. I tend to disagree on this notion as this is what I understand from putting a better quality filter :
An air filter primarily filters the air entering the engine from outside. This air needs to be rich in oxygen to help the combustion in the engine’s cylinders. The better purified the air is, the better the oxygen content. The better the oxygen content, the better is the combustion, leading to better power and mileage. A performance filter like K&N keeps out particulate matter and improves airflow considerably. This impacts the engine’s efficiency, creating more horsepower and torque.
Ordinary Paper Filter
Becomes clogged after some usage
Swells due to humidity
Replacement required after 10,000 miles
K&N Filter
Oil impregnated surgical cotton fabric
Suspended dirt hardly causes any restriction
Oil barrier becomes an additional filter
High volume air enters intake system
PLUS
Washable and Reusable !
All K&N Filters are washable and reusable using the special re-charger kits. This can be done up to 25 times. While K&N Filters have run more than 1.6 lac kms without a cleaning, it’s advisable to check your filter once every 48,000 kms.
I hope this info helps the all the car owners planning to install the K&N filters.
Cheers and enjoy ! ! !
