Hi All,

I need to buy a car clutch pedal extender here in India for my wife who has a bad left knee(read getting WORSE!) driving the Indica whose clutch pedal is high. As a result her foot is mostly in the air, not resting on the ground and she has bad calf and knee strain. Upon researching the net I found that these are available in the USA. Wonder if any of you guys know where I can pick them up in Mumbai. All help is appreciated in this regard. I am attaching a link here just so that you guys know what is it I am talking about. Please contact by email if any leads! Thanks in anticipation.....

I was not sure what this extender you were mentioning is all about untill i saw the snaps in the link. I'm not sure where to get these in mumbai or india rather but this is something that you would be able to make easily from a good laithe\machine shop. But make sure that the end product is fully reliable, i mean test for slipping at the pedal end.

Thanks, 16V 100bhp
But I am sure if we are getting everything else here I ought to be able to locate one soon somewhere!
But what you mentioned about reliabilty is something very true.

hey scorpindio!
I dont think you can find these easily in India..
Maybe searching ebay would help..

Other option is what 16v100bhp said..

Dont get me wrong but how about contacting those people who create rides for disabled people..I think there will have a solution to your need..

A foot rest (dead pedal) next to the clutch pedal might serve the purpose.

Try looking at the high end cars like camry etc. They have dead pedals where you can rest your foot on it instead of resting it on the clutch pedal. It is easy to get one made and installed in your car.

Yeah I finally did the organ pedal thing which is shown in this link. I guess this is what you mean by a "dead pedal", they call it organ pedal. Hope it will work. I got a bus accelerator pedal about 10 inches long and 2.5 inches broad to fit on the floor just below the the clutch and rests on the clutch.
