Like GTO mentioned, picking the top trim has it's advantages. I went a little overboard when I bought my XUV. Not only did I opt for the W8 Optional, I also selected the dual tone model. But after that, I wanted to have some comforts that are very specific to each person. I added the below to my car.

1. PPF for the doors, bumpers and bonnet (fenders were not covered as it turned out to be too expensive)
2. 70mai dashcam
3. 3M floor mats (these are my best buy)
4. Quirk trunk organizer (has a permanent spot in the boot to hold the car cleaning accessories and stuff like disposable plates, spoons and tissues)
5. Blind spot mirrors (in Hyd traffic, this is a must)
6. Trash bin
7. Perfume (this is like fuel, needs a recharge frequently)
8. Utility hooks on the rear seats (to hang bags etc.)

I am sucker in this department. Added below in my Compass

Upcoming accessories

I'm just waiting for Gannu to get here and obliterate this thread with his list of mods!

Voted Medium.

For 2019 Ford Endeavour Titanium+ 4x2:
  1. Cargo cover
  2. Pull-up sun shades for all 4 windows. I also keep a foldable windshield sun shade in the car.
  3. Door hinges covers
  4. Door latch covers
  5. Changed turn signal (including ORVMs), reverse, high beams and front fog lights to LEDs.
  6. Converted headlights from D8S to D3S.
  7. Added "angel wings" led lights. They light up when you open the doors. They also light up when you turn on the front fog lights.
  8. Added footwell lights for 4 seats. They light up when you open the doors.
  9. Installed wireless phone charging.
  10. Moved (kind of) Android Auto USB port (from the front storage under the AC controls) to inside the glove box. AAWireless unit will go in the glove box.
  11. Installed dashcam and rear camera.
  12. Installed "Powerbank system" for these cameras so they can be used in parking mode without draining car battery. These components reside behind the 3rd row seat. A single momentary switch to control everything is installed in the front storage under the AC controls.
  13. Installed blind spot mirrors.
  14. Added full size cargo mat.
  15. Installed relay to auto fold/unfold ORVMs when you lock/unlock the car.

All installations except #15-18 are DIY.

I also keep below items in the boot :
  1. Umbrella.
  2. 2 folding camping chairs.
  3. A folding coffee table from Decathlon.
  4. Food trays for 1st and 2nd row seats.
  5. Tyre puncture kit.
  6. Tyre inflator.
  7. Jumper cables.
  8. Jump start battery pack.

For 2019 Maruti Suzuki Wagon R ZXi:
  1. Installed ZXi logo on the boot door.
  2. 4D (or is it 5D) mats.
  3. OEM 3D cargo mat (surprisingly good quality, was not expecting that from Maruti Suzuki).
  4. Sun shades for all 4 windows.
  5. Steering wheel cover.
  6. Installed front center console with armrest.
  7. In progress - Install power supply to power the 4 (out of 7) charging ports that are part of the armrest console.

  16. Installed twin Hella horns.

The 2019 WagonR head unit does not have provision to install a reverse camera. So unfortunately that installation never happened.

For me personally, accessorizing the car isn't something which is always planned. When I head to any of the accessories shops, certain accessories which were available the previous time might not be available and new ones take their place As an enthusiast,I might think of getting them for my car if it turns out to be something useful(or even if it's something fancy for that matter). My Car for reference is the 2016 Ecosport 1.5 Diesel Titanium+, which is the top spec variant and it was almost everything what I ask for except for few crucial features like Electric folding mirrors and Reverse Camera. Absense of the latter isn't a deal breaker for me but electric folding function for the mirrors is solely missed and it is something which cannot be accessorized from an aftermarket accessories shop.
People who opt for the top spec variants of the cars can get rid of accessories as top spec variants of new cars are seriously well equipped. But still, what I think is that a basic accessorizing is required for almost all vehicles.

Like GTO, I am someone who prefers to keep them stock. The main reason being the quality of work or the lack of it when it comes to retrofitting something. If I remember well, I had done some basic ICE set up + HL updates on my erstwhile Xeta. Same story on the Swift as well. However, I was never happy with the quality of workmanship in both cases, it was just OK at best. Afterwards, I changed the strategy to always buy the top trim. Even if some of the additions might not feel value for money for the premium they are asking for, the quality and workmanship of a factory fitted accessory is of a different league. This is the situation at least in my city. On my Rapid DSG MC, I haven't done anything. It's 100% stock and I intend to keep it that way. Being said that I am trying to fit a reverse camera for my wife's i10 AT. I am thinking of making it a DIY :)

I don't spend a lot in terms of accessories but I do spend on functional OEM fitments for comfort and convenience. As GTO said, the car is best in stock condition and picking top of the line variant does the job. I was looking for a change from my wagonr 2009(LXI), all I ever wanted was power windowsrl:. While I was finalizing my deal for the ZDI variant of brezza, an additonal price of 1L for ZDI+ made no sense to me as the OEM touchscreen system was whooping 80k as mentioned by the dealer. The only feature I miss is CC from the top-end.
Mods:
1. SONY HU with android auto/carplay
2. Hertz Tweeters placed in stock location as it was missing in ZDI
3. Variable intermittent wiper stalk
4. Auto-dimming IRVM
5. All LED cabin lights
6. Original armrest from ZDI+
7. Premium Seat covers

I also tend to spend a lot on car care
1.Premium car care kit ~ (offered as a part of basic accessories)
2.Carnauba Wax ~ 3rd box on its way:coldsweat
3.Bosch Aquatak 125 pressure washer

I am yet to become eligible for voting. If given a chance, will be voting to LOW. After running our Honda City iVTec-V for seven years with original fittings, recently upgraded the Headlights with Night Breaker. Installed a Dashcam. Other than these no more mods. Never bothered about detailing as there will be always someone waiting to scratch the car deliberately or inadvertently.

Yet to be eligible for voting, however, I would have voted Medium.

Here's what I have spent on over the years that I have owned my Vehicles.

Activa since 2015:
1. Horn - This is because where I live and the route I used to take (NICE Road in Bangalore) to work meant I had to be heard very clearly.
2. Aux Lights - Again, mandated by the route I took. I had ended up with a flat on NICE road one rainy evening just because I failed to notice a pothole on time! Went ahead and install 2 large 8 LED Aux lights setup.
3. Seat Cover
4. Tyres - primarily replaced the rear tyre couple of times due to wear and tear.

i10 since 2011
1. Music System - My wife and I can't travel in silence. When we are not talking, the deck has to be playing songs. Back then it was Radio / USB. Upgraded this 3 years back to a unit with Android Auto though my wife does not use this as much (This was much before we bought our second car and was expected to be used by me).
2. Speakers - 1 set when I had the deck fitted at the showroom in the new car and another when I upgraded the HU.
3. Reverse Camera and Parking Sensors - I added this to the Kitty when I got myself the new HU 3 years back just because it was compatible. It is a boon now since my wife relies on it extensively.
4. Seat covers - once when we bought the car and next recently. Both the times, fabric based seat covers.
5. Floor Lamination - got this done recently. Plain because of the kind of accidents we have had travelling with the kiddos and our learnings from it. Makes it very easy to clean the car.
6. Horn - Just wanted a louder horn.
7. Brighter Headlights - I upgraded these but had to quickly revert since we noticed the headlight assembly colour begin to change.
8. Mobile Holder - Have changed several until now. The latest one is a magnetic holder and is a major comfort factor since I can take the phone off the holder and attach it back without fidgeting or taking my eyes off the road.
9. Tyres because they had worn out

Creta since 2018
1. Leather Seat, Steering and Gear knob covers
2. Floor Lamination
3. Mobile Holder
4. Storage hole rubber mats (bought from Aliexpress aeons ago)
5. Leather Key Cover (bought from Aliexpress aeons ago)
6. Reverse parking camera and sensor. Had to change the screen once since the initial screen gave up.
7. Tyres just because I wanted wider tyres compared to stock.

Would've voted for Medium if I could as I also believe in buying the best you can afford meaning the top-end variant which nowadays have almost everything one could ask for.

Whatever mods I do are mostly performance or quality of life improvements rather than being aesthetic although I've indulged in a few of those too; For my Tiago I got a few visual ones like illuminated scuff plates, ambient lights that only function as more of a welcome function than actual ambient lighting, an illuminated logo that seemed cool at the time but is now half lit :Frustrati most of these were done at the dealer level. The only significant aftermarket upgrade I've done till now was a Blaupunkt head unit with Android Auto and Apple Carplay.

For my Verna I got a small bass tube to enhance the sound experience without being too discomforting, got LED bulbs that are good enough without being too harsh for other road users and 5/6/7D or whatever they call those mats that cover the floorpan up.

For my XUV nothing fancy just some normal mats and a stitched leather steering wheel cover. All in all I foresee the friendly neighborhood car decor shop going out of style in the coming years due to EVs which is a shame cause I still remember going down to the shops to get Autocop and power windows fitted to our brand new Chevy Spark in the days of yore.

Well I've a Mahindra Bolero SLX '14 model and unlike the current generation cars or even back then it's a bare bones basic jeep with a hard top and five doors. I've had the below mods over the years to make it more livable, probably may not require most of the below in my next car. On the contrary I had got a Toyota Corolla Altis '11 and it already had pretty much most of the aspects one needs covered in stock form, it was super reliable but a bland car, no offense meant to any Corolla owners.
