I got it done in my bull

Can you please tell me at which shop did you get this done?
Also, does it have sensors too?
I am looking for one, and the shop near my house sells an imported one for 14K, including installation, which I felt was too steep.

I prefer camera dear. The extra benefit is that u do not need to install any separate screen to watch movies. I have a 7" screen and its just beautiful. Everything fits well in place and things look good. As far as the brand is concerned, they are all chienese. Though I have JVC written on the screen but they actually dont make anything like this. A kit from China/Taiwan would cost Rs 4500. If you buy the OEM TATA kit, it will cost you Rs 3800 with 1.5" display and a camera and thus makes it a pathetic deal.
Moreover sensors for safari do not make so much sense because if you fit the sensor on the bumper, you still may get misguided because of the 1 feet extra length that the spare wheel gives you.
The final verdit from my side is: there is nothing that can beat a reverse camera on Safari.

Call Harsha at Pitshop in Somajiguda. His number is: 9866234562.

Take my reference. He did the installation for my Safari and My friends Innova.

Best of luck

I have installed Red Soul in my Safari. Comes with 4 sensors, audiable beeps and display of distance. The beep intensity increases as the distance decreases. The night vision is also quite good.

Red Soul is branded and comes with a warranty of 1 year. It costs 15 K.

PR, where did you get them installed from ??, dealer details pls.

Do they cut wires or the exact fitment sockets/ harness are provided ??

Did it affect your warranty??

Hi Dadu,
I got it installed from Manipal Motors Bangalore.
You can get it done from any place. In fact Red soul company guys would come and install it. It will not result in any cut or anything as they get a set of new wires to run from the camera to the LCD.
Nothing to touch with Tata Wires I guess. So nothing to worry on warranty.

Dadu,
You can check out any of the shops on JC Road in Bangalore, presuming that you are in Bangalore.
Two years back I enquired for an after-market fitment of a rear view camera and a 5" LCD screen mounted on the dash for my bolero, the camera cost quoted was 300 bucks for a b/w one and 850 for color, couple them with about 4k for the LCD and you have a reasonable rear view. Do not know the performance in low light though.
I am buying a Safari too, sometime next week would be the delivery hopefully. So, would be needing the thing myself, let me look around and if found anything suitable, will update this space. Any input about an infra-red camera for night would be helpful.
Regarding the two way mirror fitted onto the rear windscreen, that is pretty helpful too, at least to the driver behind, he can see the road ahead through that mirror somewhat and may prove useful in case of sudden braking, especially for high vehicles which generally obstruct the view ahead for someone driving a vehicle sitting lower and hence avoiding collisions from rear; again, night scenario is not tested.
Regards.

just checked at a local accessory shop and a reversing camera with a 5"lcd in the RVM costs 5k.the camera is day and night and has leds in them which light up the area behind the car.didnt check this at night so not sure about its effectiveness.since the RVM has a 5" lcd screen, you can watch videos on it as well if you have a dvd player as it has a provision to connect your HU to it.though not sure about the name of the company that manufactures it.

I got a reverse camera by a company called Silicon. Cost be 6K. If I remember correctly Silicon used to sell those remote locking systems before Autocop hit the market.

Its got a day and night camera with really good clarity and a separate LCD screen that can be fit anywhere.

Have fixed it to the right of the rear view mirror. Am pretty happy with the device.

Here is the OEM for TATA, I am awaiting prices from them. Will post, once I receive any reply on price and dealers in bangalore.

Okay guys, I replied back to them saying its too costly so here's their justification of the cost + another cheaper model option.

Quote:

Please compare following specifications of our RVS-01 with other model;

1. The cameras is having CCD ( Charged Couple Device ) . Usually other cameras are C-MOS . CCD Camera is wide angle camera and having 160 Degrees Diagonal viewing angle. This means entire area of back side of your vehicle is covered and there will be hardly any blind spots. Also it is Night vision camer you can see from it up to 1Lux darkness.

2. Our compact 2.5" LCD screen is unique for this application and is having 480 x 230 dots pixels. which give clear picture of what is behind your car.

3. Our RVS-01 system have EMI , EMC certification. Also it is having TUV certification.

4. We offer one warranty on this product.

Secondly we have another model of Rear view system . The model name is RVS-02. the details is as follows.

Rear View System : RVS-02

Consisting of CCD Colour Wide Angle Camera, Module box , LCD TFT Colour Monitor 7", Wirings, Accessories :

Price : Rs. 12,500- including VAT.
Delivery : At Red Soul Enterprises Pvt.Ltd. Bangalore
Transportation and Installation Charges Extra At actual.
Payment : 100 % Advance.
Validity : 30 days
Warranty : 1 Year

In my opinion a DVD Player with Inbuilt Screen along with the camera a will be a cheaper option with an advantage of having a DVD player in the car

Rajeev can you pls post a picture of the 7"screen, a shot of perhaps from the middle seat on does it integrate and look, I am trying to make up my mind between this and the RVM 2.5" screen. And perhaps one shot with a view while reverse is engaged.

How do they stick the screen to the roof ??
