HPP: Im not doing ARP studs right now, the headgaskets are MLS, about $90 for the pair. Thanks for the sourcing but i already have them in hand.
v1p3r: 8:1 is definitely low, and thats what the stock TT pistons are.... I will be running boost at about 8-9psi initially, plan to take it up to 15psi later on which is the max what the stock fuelling and turbos will hold, should be doing about 300awhp (with more than 20% loss because of the awd thatll be right about 350bhp at the crank), in an ideal situtaition. Damn heavy car at 1800kgs, itll still manage a run of mid 12 secs at that (wish we had a speedrun here).
The front engine mount is different because of the turbo piping so has to be changed, no money for polyurethanes yet.
nishantkingpin: youre always welcome to lend a hand as a spectator :D
Oh oh, still havent had time to start working on my car because of pending commitments. Meanwhile i thought the car looked fresh after a wash today so took some pics..
Arush ! Its cho chweet and mean too and would scout for a ride if @ all am in the capital. Really it is breathtaking!
arush that is one killer looking 3000gt that i had ever seen.
how old she is?
Thanks VJ, Karan... Manufactured in '96, Imported to India in '98, Bought by me in '06
Red headlights still could change. Super car anyways!
How wide really is a widebody? Pic taken from bumper level, cropped but not widened ;)
That looks really wide.
Just see how the fat the tyres look.
Rubber is Advan Sport 245/40/18s .... not as fat as id like them though :)
Arush bhai, The car looks fantastic and how do you manage to maintain the black whew! The angles of the pictures taken are great.
I have exhausted all words praising the car when it was first showcased so as always I have nothing more to say on the GTO as the car speaks for itself thruogh the pictures.
Has anybody heard the GTO rev?? Arush's GTO looks HOT and sounds Amazing. I heard it last time when i visited his workshop, damn it has an insane note.
Kudos to Arush for having a car like that. Its unique in its own way.
pardon the ignorance but just clear this for me. i was under the impression that over 12 psi under specific conditions and heavy acceleration or braking or turns you might reach a point when, without proper fuel pressure regulation you might get alternate fuel pulses. that is at one point due to the gforce pressure will drop as the fuel is forced back and when it normalises you'll suddenly have more than required. what the boost has to do with it is that at that pressure you'd have one cylinder tailing off due to lack of fuel. its a lil specific but am i wrong?

Sure, to be specific id like to know you mean that stock fuel pressure regulation is not adequate enough to avoid that? Or would an aftermarket higher capacity fuel pressure regulator will negate it?
Also, specifically 12psi with this particular car's setup or generally speaking?
Arush, The pictures are worth a million words. Simply brilliant.
The GT for sure needs a proper portfolio done -- at a place where there are no shadows on it from surrounding objects/areas.
I am sure it would be a pleasure to drive & hear it breathe. BTW, do you actually switch on the ICE while driving or just listen to the music from the engine?
Cheers,
