@lilMonSter : I got the underbody plasma lights for around 8.5k and the wheel arch flares would be done in a month or so. Will keep you updated
Vishu,
By the way, your interest is in bikes ! You seem to be doing more to your car :D
Also , would you mind telling me whats the use of the lights under the body. I have seen couple of cars round here in Bangalore, but couldn't quite comprehend why these are used.
Do you think you can mod an ANHC & NEW LAURA, Pls revert.
what keeps you going thoughclap:

@nandans2005 : I used to mod my bike and my bikes till a year back but now don't get the time to focus both on cars and bikes.
The under body plasma lights are purely for show and they don't have any real use.
Visit my gallery to see my face lifted laura. I can mod a car as per my or your taste but it will take time because I really take time to pick and choose the right things which go into the ride. Very choosy regarding the looks and I need the best. PM me if you have any specific things to be discussed.
Hi guys,
I got my install done. There were some changes in the things I chose, the details are as below:
1. Amp: Kenwood KAC-M845 - 5.5K
2. Sub: Pioneer TS-W1208D2 - 3.6K (had also auditioned JBL S12, but liked Pioneer better)
3. Wiring: JBL (original, it was same as Sam posted on some thread, rectangular clear plastic box) - 2K + .6K (for an extra RC)
4. Box: Self made
5. Speakers: 4" JBL at front & 6*9 JBL 947 at rear - 5K
6. Extra switch: to switch off the amp so that only front speakers work (to stay vary of the parking guys) - Rs. 50
7. Woofer protective grill - Rs. 100
8. Male female connectors - Rs. 100
Total: 17K (initial budget was around 10K), all the things purchased are with bill & warranty.
I am happy with the sound, adjusted it according to my taste with just enough bass. Please pour in your comments, including on the prices (I know though that I have already paid). The install took place last evening, will take the pictures this weekend once the car is cleaned thoroughly from the inside.
The PWs should be installed tomorrow morning, will post the details later.
Problem/Doubt: Guys, there is this peculiar thing I noticed with the sub today morning. Please have a look at the picture below, notice the region between the two red circles. This is the area where the rubber surround meets the cone & is pasted to it.
In my sub, this area did not have any gaps when I saw it. But today morning, I noticed that there are gaps, not too wide, but my car key & a toothpick's unsharp end is able to get into it. I don't suspect any leakage, but I am surprised as to how this gap came. I went back to the dealer today & checked on another sub which was installed in his shop (same model) & it also had inconsistent gaps in this region, although they were not that wide (toothpick's diameter) in my opinion. I have spoken to a company representative (Pioneer) & am going to show the woofer to him tomorrow, but can anybody throw some light on why this can happen if this is a problem?
Please help me, I need some information or guidance urgently with this issue.
Drive safe.
hey all, got the front two door power windows installed in my car today. :D Oh, I was excited like a child & ended up playing quite a bit with the windows throughout the day.

did you get a MGP power window assembly fitted or some other brand ?
^^ hey harish, no it's not MGP. As per my observation, the MGP varies from dealer to dealer. One workshop would offer the product of Magna, another of RD & so on. So, it hardly makes a difference whether you get it from outside or from the showroom/workshop.
Mine is a one touch system, both for up & down movement of the window. I was initially supposed to get this window with illuminated switches, but then the one touch module did not support it, hence got them without lights.

Every MGP part has a part number. Dealerships have inhouse accessories dept which is mostly outsourced to an external agency. You will get MGP parts from Maruti authorised workshops.
The power window assembly has been the same for over some years and there haven't been any variations that I know of.
Pls check back with the dealerships where you have enquired previously. I can help you with the part number if you still need the same.

Yes, there has been no change in the front power-window switch since the Alto Vx ! My 1-month old K10 has the exact same power-window switch as my 10-year-old Vx :Frustrati
The stock MGP switch has several limitations - "express-down" is available only for the driver's side (switches with that feature have "Auto" inscribed on them). The swicthes aren't illuminated. And, there is no "express-up"...
I purchased a 2008 Alto couple weeks ago.
What are my options for a after Market muffler . Only sporty sound required. No performance needs as of now. Remus ? Magnaflow ?
Where in mumbai ?

Sorry about the off-topic post, but how much did you paid for the 2008 ALTO,
a close friend is interested in one and it would be very helpful if you can share the details of the car condition and price paid.
Was it purchased by you from its first owner ?

It really depends on your Budget to be honest. So what is your budget
It seems you can't change the color of speedometer illumination on Amber/Orange colored console in ALTO-800 as in addition to the cap on the bulb, the dials are also laminated in amber color.
The illumination on the HVAC console uses the same bulb as the diagnostic lights(the bulb is a bit smaller than parking lights).

Hey Cyrus-
Budget is about 3k for a muffler only if full free flow installed then about 7 - 8. But I don't really want that now, although the Alto does seem under powered and FFE's slight increase in power would be welcome.
Automech quoted 7.5 for full FFE. Headers Muffler ..the whole thing.
They say sporty note in the mid to high RPM. I want it in the low RPM too.
The need of the hour is a good sporty note.
So what do you guys suggest.
Muffler / Full Free Flow .. ?
