Hi, I am interested in knowing if anyone is using Pipercross Viper intake kit which comes with carbon fibre heat shield?
Would like to know how good are they in filteration? how good are returns in power and torque from these viper kits?
I am looking for K&N filters or for that matter panel filters.
So, if anyone using this particular kit would be helpful to know your feedback on it. I am interested in fitting one on skoda fabia diesel.

Thankyou.

MODS: Did a search on this particular model but couldn't find any feedback on the same.

Hi "Invisible", Monty9991 had one of these installed in his Alto *link*

Considering that it could be installed in the engine bay of an Alto, you should have no issues with fitting it in a Fabia.

As regards to the filters' efficacy, I guess Monty's the best person to comment...

Is the carbon fibre on the heat shield actual carbon fibre or a plastic sticker??

hey ive had some first hand instllations and reviews from people on the pipercross venom kit, these reviews were from mixed category of car owner's,it has been installed on the lancer, honda city, swift petrol, skoda laura, esteem, the overall review was good gains on initial pick up,very strong mid range and top end power delivery, overall its a great filter, and yes the carbon fiber sheild is actual carbon fiber,pm me if you need anymore help on the installation & routing of the pipercross viper kit, hope i could help, cheers, happy revving..!

i do have a pipercross CAI in my alto, but its not VIPER model. i have other. its really worthit specially if you installing it in a deisel car. after the install i have my little thing (alto) going all over places with less down shifts. i'd suggest go for it, every clamp u need is avalible with the kit. and moreover there are only 1% chanse to mod anything in your engine bay or else it can be instaled easily.

Considering that you did it in your Alto ,Monty, how effective it is in a petrol model ? Can it be done in my Zen Estilo too ? What are the costs involved and where did you source the kit from?
Thanks

What am really looking a filter model which gives beter low end grunt and strong midrange. Diesel are different then petrol as they have smaler rev band as compared from my expeirence have learnt one thing going for bigger filter may give you better midrange and high boost and smaller filters have better low and mid range boost. Atleast have noticed with k&n filters. But incase of pipercross viper, its a completely different technology as it uses inverted foam technology. So am curious how good will it be on diesel.
Another choice i can make is green cotton twister filter which also gues is available with carbon fibre shield Again have read reviews on it on net but got kinda mixed reaction.

Hey dragger any idea how its performing on laura. Any contacts of the laura guy would be great to get his feedback on it.

Thanks.

hey invinsible. why not also check with peter if he has a carbonio intake or some intake made just for the fabia?

Hey I am looking out for a good performance filter to Increase the low-end torque and the top-end speed of my Indica XETA(Petrol 1.4lt). Can anybody pour in some lights on this as to what filter would help me. I have tried searching around for K&N in their website and also went to some dealers in Bangalore and was told that they do not have any. I heard some Apollo performance filter, but it costs nearly 10k. Is it worth doing that and how much of a difference can I find in my car (initial torque/ increase in any bhp / top end)?

hey the skoda laura owner is a very close friend of mine,as mentioned earlier the low end response is good, the mid and top end is very strong, takes the turbo very well all the way to the revv limiter,do pm me if you have any other queries, cheers, happy revving..!

yes this mod is also more effective for the pterol versions also. as discussed you get low end torque, which results in less gear shifiting to the lower gear. i sourced this from my local pipercross dealer in Ludhiana from EURO MOTORS. i was charged Rs. 200 for the fitting as there si very less ( almotst none) mods to hook this thing in engine bay.

our diesel engine will give you good response on after you have this filter. my cousin has the same pipercross model in his swift diesel. " Really very effective and there is increase in milage as well by 2km/l " thats what he said after few weeks.

Hi,How can the pipercross filter be cleaned once installed?Do they have a cleaning kit just as K&N's have a cleaning kit or does the owner has to get it done from a service shop?

thanks

From my personal experience of having this on my Mivec for about 600kms, I would say this does not perform any better than a properly installed K&N Xstream. Might be good for cars where it is almost impossible to install a conical filter properly like in the Getz 1.3. For the price it retails at I would go for it only if the situation really warrants for it.
