Herez the video - note that this video was uploaded to youtube in 2007. We are way too behind :Frustrati

YouTube - Clear Glass Bathroom Door

Good catch.
Guess this will slove all our problems with the governments no tint rule.
But is it possible to keep it partially transparent and not make it completely opaque.
Who wants a complete opaque glass?

What about polarised glasses for car windows. If Indian government can slash the price we could not be so angry about letting go of the tints in our cars.
Any updates on the latest developments with this technology and application on cars.

OK, how about an update on this? It's now 2014. Anyone use this?

This site is pretty cool:

It's pricy still.

Hey folks, i just came across an interesting listing of a BMW 320d, which claims that it has ELECTRO PARTICLE STICKER ON GLASS TO MAKE IT OPAQUE AT THE TOUCH OF A BUTTON.

Here's the link to the listing - http://www.carwale.com/used/cars-in-...-2009-s534565/

My wife just delivered a baby last month, so i'm really interested to know where i can find such a thing for any of my cars (Beetle, Endeavor, Volvo s80 or Cedia)

Or at least does anybody know about such a thing called "ELECTRO PARTICLE STICKER ON GLASS" ? I tried to Google, but only found Wiki page, and no such listings.:Frustrati

Also called electrochromic glass or smart glass. Has been available to the construction industry for a long time now. Just recently found out that it now comes in film form which broadly widens it's usage.

It's still quite expensive at about INR 5000/sft approx.

Bumping an old thread, Since i have just madeup my mind to tint my jetta maybe just to block about 70% of visibility from the outside, I had seen how smart tints work long back, Does anyone have any information about it? Its 2016 now, I hope there would be someone in India dealing or installing it now. I dont even mind spending a hefty amount since ill be anyways keeping the car for another 2-3 years easily and i can have the best of both worlds. Any help/update would be highly appreciated.

These are not really 'tints', since they are binary (on or off) from what I've seen so far.

Mod Note: Please continue the discussion on the new Smart Glass thread!

Interesting technology but pretty useless and downright dangerous in automotive application. Turning car windows/rear windscreen completely opaque would completely 'blind' the driver to anything and everything outside the vehicle which can have pretty disastrous consequences.
