My friend says, Coirfed is the best place and for the best prices too ! Check in your hometown !
Latheesh, Did you have any luck in placing the carpet guys ? I check with a home carpet dealer and he couldnt do any good.
I checked at a shop near my house and the quality was not good, and it did not have any brand name on it!!
Yesterday I saw a pretty decent mat in my office cafeteria and was looking good, forgot the brand name, will check today and post it.
Checked with a 3M dealer
3M Nomad, normal light duty - Rs.150/sq ft
3M Nomad, heavy duty - Rs.250/sq ft
We can customize the shape.
Verdict : Though 3M quality is way above the others, the price is too much. If I had a C++ sedan, I would have thought about 3M.
s3va, checked the brand its 3M Nomad.
Price you mentioned is too high. I dont know the mat I saw is normal duty or heavy duty, looks like normal.
We may have to shell out 2.4K for normal and around 4K for heavy duty. Let me think about it:-)))
Saw another brand of mat in my office "DUROTURF", looks very close to 3M

They are the govt wing of coir manufacturing, like Rubber board etc.
other day had a chance to walk over one of these mats. They were very cozy and fluffy. I really liked the feel. Planning to get one for my Zen.
A question from my side, what are these made out of? When car is parked without shade during hot summer (with all windows rolled up), is there a possibility that these mats give out some "not so good for health" odor or gases?
Got the contact of the nearest place- in Thippasandra- Home decor opposite to BPCL and went there today. The guy who i talked to on the phone was not there and some assistant who was as usual bored to death told me they do not have Duro Mats. I was like, give me a break- when will these bangalore shop keepers learn customer service!
I told him to get them out and let me see what he has and voila- out came the Duro Mats.
They are nice material but had to wait for the in charge as the price was not printed and i was in the mood for some bargaining.
The guy came finally and the first thing he did was to call the owner and say- some customer here, whats the price, do we give him some wholesale/dealer price?
He told me that there are 2 of them 1500 and 950.
Meanwhile a girl came and started to talk to him in Telugu and he was like a puppy dog adressing her query- giving me an ignore( quite expected!)
I asked him- any discount, he said no- i told him many people would buy, etc etc but he said not a single rupee off and i was out of the shop promptly.
The mats are nice but the usual experience- shop keepers are ok letting customers go than give any nice treatment and even if refuse a discount do it in a way not to offend. No wonder there are 100s of them sitting at the SAME place while most of the others( read that outsiders and more customer oriented people ) are moving on
Anyways- better to call that guy who comes all the way and pay him the same amount than pay this guy.
Latheesh: Maybe you can check this place out and try your luck since its close to your home? He may budge seeing more people show interest in this "new stock" that he has got
One more things- did see the other mats which are used in homes etc and there is a distinct difference in the quality. These car mats have stronger bottom and are non slip and also the top quality is better.

full car mat- set of 4 pieces. THE JC road guy who is willing to come home is giving for Rs 1300 and 900 respectively. Maybe if we do a group buy( 3 of us) he can reduce more?

I bought the Duramats from one of the dealers in Kalasipalayam. He door delivered the mats to me.
Overall it is good and I dont have the dust stained looks that I used to have it on the company provided rubber mats. But one big mistake that I did was opting for the beige colored mats. The drive side mat has developed imprints along with some dirt caused due to placement of the heels. And unfortunately the imprints are not getting removed even after a shampoo wash.
So if someone has plans to buy, stay away from Beige color. The other available colors are black and grey.
Found almost everyone using this kind of mat on our recent trip to Bhutan & Sikkim. Seems the guys there are already ahead of us! :)
