Anybody knows about Innova's projectors in Mumbai? Where to find, cost, fitting et al?

A basic question. what does the black sticker do in an automobile headlight?

If the secondary reflector already focuses the light to the intended area for illumination, is a black sticker still essential?

Just upgraded my Vento from stock to Osram Night Breaker Plus 55/60.

What I notice immediately following a short drive is that the light seems whiter and far brighter than stock. Definition and spread also are better.

Need to take a longer night drive on unlit road to really see the benefits.

Cost: INR 1695 at Car Palace KDPuram TVM.

I'm planning to install Philips Crystal Vision 90/100W halogens in my Figo and have a couple of queries:
1. Will I need to install a relay for the new halogens?
2. Will getting the relay installed from an independent source void the warranty? I don't want to do anything that voids the warranty as my car is just 10 days old!

A wiring kit, relay and ceramic bulb holders are required when you install 100/90 W. Roots wiring harness is a good choice,. Warranty will not void as no cutting of OEM wires is not done.

Dear BHPians,

I have a Corolla Altis 2009 Automatic variant (1.8VL) and I just cannot get my head around on deciding how to improve the lights - The Altis VL has a HID for the low beam, which now throws a very dull beautiful white beam. The high beam is a standard halogen but 65W.

I will not change to a 100/90w but am looking for inputs on whether the philips xtremepower or Osram NB will be better than the 65W bulbs I have

Also, what can I do to the dull, white, beautiful beam of my low beam HIDs?

Any accessory shop owners are very welcome to send me a PM

P.S. :OT Also looking to increase thigh support on the Altis - any guys with experience on this car?

Whats the temperature of the OE HID?
You could see if cleaning your lenses helps(from inside).
Maybe they'll be bright white and beautiful.

Or maybe you could opt for a lower temperature HID to get a bright, slightly yellow, but average looking beams.

You could try upgrading high beams to nightbreakers or XtremeVision and the like. However, difference is marginal. However, I suggest you to keep the HID as it is. I dont think you will find a better option than what is currently existing in the low beam.

Thanks mate!
U just went through the Philips website and it says that installation of the Crystalvision & Diamondvision halogens doesn't require any special wiring or relay! Not sure if that is true! Someone please help!

If I'm not wrong the temperature of the OE HID is 4300K.

Most probably correct. I think their wattage is also 60/55 so no change is needed. Only when you go for 100/90 do you need to change the loom by adding a relay and the holders.

Yup, I got that confirmed from another source as well, and have hence ordered Philips Diamond Vision halogens for my Figo!

Recently Ive been seeing that some people have fitted bulbs which throw a slight purplish light. Which bulbs are those? Are they any good?
All your inputs will be appreciated :)

These may be HIDs or even Halogens with a coloured glass. I will just call that 'nakshebaazi' or show off. Colour temperature of 4300°K is considered ideal. You can get 2700°K HIDs (best for fogs) but the ones you are referring to are 10000°K or 12000°K. HIds of even 20000°K are available I believe.

A high colour temperature makes the bulb totally ineffective and useless in fog and rain.

If you are looking for better lighting, stay away from them. These lamps are only good for the bling factor and city driving.
