Ofcourse. I myself installed DRLs in my Safari without cutting any wires. I have used ACC connection for DRLs.

What type of DRLs have you used in your Safari? Are they the two small strips that are available or like the ones on i20?

Any pictures of the DRL and costs involved? Thanks.

Thanks, I will check further. I am not that familiar with the Civic electrical and bit skeptical too to go ahead, hence the question :)
Both HASS and an independent garage told they cannot do without tapping the wires. HASS declined to attempt as well.
Given that, I was checking on whether I can put a series switch and wire directly to the front bumper.

Meanwhile, this is the DRL type am trying to attach.

Can you please explain more? Did you not splice the wire also? If so let me know how to tapped into the ACC

The ACC wires comes to music system. I have aftermarket music system (Pioneer) installed in my Safari. These DRLs do not consume more current and maximum they consume 5-10 watts. So, going by this calculation ACC wire which comes to music system can provide load to DRLs as well. Yes, with proper fuse and short circuit prevention.

The music system gets two types of Power

1. Permanent Power - Which keeps your memory alive
2. ACC power - Switched on after you move keys to ACC position and actually it provide High Current power to music system for playback.

Tapping from ACC wire has benefit that if you forget to switch off DRLs with their dedicated switch it will be switched off once you stop the engine and come out of car.

Typical wiring diagram is as follows

ACC -> DRL Wire -> Fuse (2 Amps) -> Switch -> DRLs

Every, aftermarket music system comes with open set of wires, which they connect with male connector and tape thereafter this male connector goes to female connector supplied by car wiring for connecting music system.

Heads-up!

The Night Breaker Unlimited H4 is now available locally from a Bangalore based e-commerce portal so no need to source them from abroad anymore.

I have got a pair for my Polo and shall be installing it this weekend. Have mentioned about the shopping experience on this thread.

Any sources in India for Morimoto FX3 (not the fake FXR3). Also, any idea of what it may cost.

Anyone where I can good reliable W5W LED's. Also called as T10. I saw Osram's in a car accessory shop but they are Rs.1100 a pair.

The Ecosport uses 10 of them. 2 for parking lights, 6 in the cabin and 2 in number plate. I'm not confident of the chinese ones as they look very cheap.

Hi Vid6639,

Pardon my ignorance, but why do you need these W5Ws? stupid:

I mean, have some of these LEDs in your EcoSport gone kaput? Or are you referring to the stock ones when you mentioned "cheap looking chinese"?

FYI, www.powerbulbs.com ships a pair of Osram 12V W5W free with every order of more than GBP 15 value. Their Customer service and delivery is very prompt and they provide free shipping to India.

Thanks.

The Ecosport has boring yellow halogen bulbs. I want to change them to LED's.

Try in dx.com or snapdeal.com.

You'll get those T10 bulbs needed for replacement and IIRC BHPian ecosportrules has changed the light's to LED in his Eco Sport.

Hi Vid6639,

Get the projectors with DRLs done.

Advantages.
1) Awesome light out put in both high and low beam.
2) Socket to socket fitment , so doesnt effect warrenty.
3) consumes only 35w as opposed to 55w stock (lesser load on alternator and battery)
4) DRL with switchbacks look awesome..
5) Doesnt effect on coming traffic as it has a neat cutoff line.
6) headlight levelling works too.
7) all weather 5000k HID.
8) covers 6 lanes width wise on the highway.
9) Flood light kind of effect.

You can also have a look at my initial ownership report.

Hope it helps:).

It looks awesome buddy. Neat job done here:thumbs up

Have couple of questions:
1. Is the projector setup is available for all cars with DRL's similar to yours?
2. What was the overall cost?
3. Is it available in Bangalore?

Nice!!!. Thanks for posting the photographs with driver's view of Projector HL. This kinda lighting is wonderful and i believe this will give stress free night drive. but i do hear people saying -ves against Projector HID. 'Not so powerful', 'useless at rains' etc..

Between, I follow your ownership thread and was dumbstruck with level of mods you carried out on your Ecosport. :thumbs up

I just installed 35w bi-xenons hid with a retrofit projector in my gigenet i20. I'm now looking to upgrade the fog lamps. I want to keep the light yellow but have a more powerful output than the stock fogs yet without the need for relays. Id like to avoid anything that will run hotter than stock because I have the led fog lamps & I don't want to replace them because of a burnout

I believe the bulb is h27.

Any suggestions?
