Hi guys,

Can you please let me know if anyone has any experience with changing the stock headlight bulb of NHC with Xenon. If yes, howz the experience and approx how much it costs?

thanks

:Frustrati For the second time my RHS high beam filament has fused (in about 6-8 months). Using Philips Rallye 130W/100W with relay and all. The previous bulb lasted over a year. The LHS however is still going strong for over 2 years and with no change yet. *touchwood*.

Do i need to get the electricals checked? Had got it checked last time and was told its ok. Are these bulbs prone to low operating life? I dont think so cos the LHS bulbs are fine and they are the first set for almost over 2 yrs now.

@ kartik iyer - i have the pre crde scorpio and have been using the 100/130 headlight bulbs with cutout etc. 'touchwood' no issues till now.

rgds

Could you post a pic of the light along with the mounting?
Lighting from such lights depends on
1) reflector
2)Mounting
3)wattage of bulb.

Such bulbs usually take in a H3 bulb.
try putting in a Phillips 100W h3 bulb, make sure your wiring supports this though.
Mount the reflector in such a way that it is able to focus light onto the area where you need it. What kind of illumination are you looking for? a spread ? or a spot?

Hi ,

It is fitted in the bumpers where there is space for extra lamps on the bumpers and it is not the refelector ones .

If you can suggest me then i will discard this one and install a reflector one with better visibility as this is showing me area road right below till some distance ahead .

Rgds .. kat

umm all lamps have a reflector buddy.
Whats the shape of the lamp?
If you want you can try for a "plough lamp" they provide decent spread.

I think Kartik is refering to 'Fog Lamps' when he says 'Bumper Lamps' ;)

hi this is soban
looking for zen bumper signal light with fog light combine
and smoked head & tail light

pls help

thank you

The next thing for the low beam i have a xenon 10000k hid light , in the low beam there is a cutter which cuts the light so that it acts as a low beam and the light is not speard all around , i wanted if we can remove that cutter which places the light as low beam.

Can't help you with the high beam. Don't know what you mean by cutter, but as far as your low beam is concerned - your 10000k HID produces a very dark violet coloured light - thats why you probably don't see a beam spread. You should be fine with 6000k to 6500k, which is what OEM's use.

Can I install an Hid Kit on my RX-135 if I upgraded the battery?

What modifications am I looking at if I have to go ahead with this?

check this:

Yeak 6000k is the ideal colour temp. I think OEM's usually run 4300-6000k if im not mistaken.

Also a guy who worked in a company manufacturer HID kits told me that identical ratings(say 6000k) from 2 differement manufacturers would be a slightly different colour. But in general its like the charts show.

I have already found the headlight of a Hero Honda CD Dawn, it holds an H4. My only concerns are will the battery get charged when the HID is running? Will I have to upgrade the rectifier? Will A relay help?

hids only use 35w so it shouldnt be a problem.

No problems then go ahead. but i am again asking where are you going to fix the ballast kit. battery will get charged when hid is on, but make sure you upgrade the battery before.
EDIT: upgrade the rectifier also..
