Royal Enfield Independence day Ride.

Hi guys today while surfing Face book I came to know that there is going to be a Independence Day Ride for Royal Enfeild Bulletiers.

Last time in the year 2009 there were 175 Nos,participants this year the count is 400 + and still counting till now.
I got this information from a regular participant whose name is Mr. Steven Miranda, when I spoke to him he said he is a Bulletier and has a garage in Bandra.He has invited me for the ride.

He said that the ride will begin from Bandra Showroom of R.Enfeild and proceed to Gateway of India,and return back with almost 500 + Bullets.

The ride is to start at 8.00AM and will get over by 1.30 PM, because upto that time the permissions are given by the authorities.

All are invited and no need to be a member of any club or group etc to participate.

If any one wants to see the video clipping of the last ride pls search for
Steven Miranda on 'face book'.
This will also give some details of the ride set for 15.08.2011.

Come on guys wake up the time is running out , the count has crossed 547.
Pls dont just keep sleeping on the Independence day let us all join togather on our Bullets and Thump towards Gateway of India . All are invited without any invitation , just COME.

Hi guys I had invited all T.Bhpians for this wonderful event, in this thread I had given a prompt too for the same,but surprisingly no one replied.

Any way today was the day, and we all got togather at R.Enfeild showroom at Bandra in the morning at sharp 8.00 AM.

I started my day with fixing our tricolour flag on my Bullet at home itself, filled the fuel and rode my recently restored Bull with little more ADD ONS viz. (A brass flag rod for the front mud guard with golden threded embroidered log of R.Enfeild on a puffed up triangular flag in black colour and Team Bhp sticker on the seat )and rode towards Bandra.

I was there at 7.40 AM ,there were already about 20 riders with Bikes.We were served tea and then T shirts came with R.Enfeild logo on the back side and and sketch of the Bullet on the front side the cost 300/-each.
I brought a T shirt for myself, I changed into that T shirt in their showroom itself.

The registeration of the participants took about 1 hr.

We(around 385 Bikes) started off at 8.15 AM and were asked to switch ON our head lights through out our ride.

We started off and proceeded towards shivaji park, and then turned towards Worli seaface ,we took 2 rounds of the entire sea face,then proceeded on A.B.Road towards kemps corner then on to Marine drive and finnally stopped at Nariman point.
After around 15 minutes we all started for Gateway of India,again 2 rounds of the road opposit to the Taj were taken.
After this we all again proceeded towards Nariman Point We had some snacks and colddrinks ,after which we all started our journey towards Mahim,and then towards sea link but turned towards lilavati hospital,and finnally came to halt at Carter Road.

The moderators Steve,Akash,etc thanked the riders for sparing their time to participate in this ride and announced that this ride and event is independent and not belongs to any club or group ,there were two riders who will be doing a ride to Ladhakh next week.
We had a good time I met some guys made some new freinds.

Just to confirm did the route go through the Sea Link? Bikes are not allowed in Sea Link? So did you guys have a permission and went through the Sea Link?
It would have been awesome experience!

No Subu we did not take the sealink but planned it to use it for the next republic day drive,and subsequently Independance day 2012.

Veerji, nice photos, I presume it's you there in the photo, and your bike looks good. Pity I didn't see this page earlier since I live close to the starting point. Don't have a Bullet but I do have some pretty interesting motorcycles.

Was there a ride yesterday too? Cos I saw a lot of bullets gather outside Mocha at about 8 am and then ride on. Or maybe they were Indiethumpers or Mocha riders. Any info or photos?
