I agree with Akshay, the original looks were better but the new look is good too, with some clean paint job. I am sure it must be a pocket rocket |
This bike seems to be the envy of the town. It may be jealousy or insanity or both. It was an eye sore when I first saw the state of the bike after it was burnt. Being in love with the bike myself, it was a pain for me.
The bike has a lot of punch and feels scary at times. Quote:

What's with the single tail pipe? Does it sound sweeter or otherwise? |
It is loud and robust but not a pain for ears. We can feel the aggression in the sound. Quote:

I too personally liked the earlier colour since it was sportier. But it didn't look very good on the bike since the finishing wasn't perfect. I had to change the colour due to the owners demands. The rims were powder coated earlier. Quote:

I am both into cars and bikes. All I need is some scope and freedom to experiment. I love to do such jobs. Quote:

Personal note: You have made a good attempt at restoring the bike, any reason for those silencers? No Offense mate |
No, the carburettors weren't hurt. But the fuel tank was. It seems there was a leak in the tank and the earlier owner had sealed it using some sealant. It came off due to heat and it started leaking again. Miraculously the fuel did not ignite, otherwise 6 litres of fuel in the tank would had done some serious destruction. I have now done brazing and the tank is perfect.
It is from an old Kawasaki. Dont know much details about it since it was already there when my friend acquired the RD.
The bike is running on an electronic ignition system. I did not have to touch the ignition system, but the wiring of lighting and instrument cluster was messed up; less because of the fire and more because of mechanics.
Though the present silencer sounds good, it will be replaced with stock ones. Financial issues have caused us to keep the silencers on hold. |
