Guys i got this info that the run has been posponed till 1 week of April. Lets hope that it doesnt get more delayed. It would be great to be there, I am also planning to take part in 250cc cat. with my Yezdi D250 CL as i am modding it for drag ,like getting K&N air filter, porting-polishing, exp-chamber and elim tyre in rear. As I am new to the drag racing world, you guys in this forum are really good as i am reading threads everyday and getting tons of info Hats off to you all.

More tech info needed from you guys to enhance the engine of my old Yedzi more to make it vintage rocket. Also planning to put sticker of our site(Team-BHP.com) over my vintage rocket if permitted:-)

Regards

Abhishek

Sorry subject should be Vintage rocket at Delhi Speed Run 2006

hey abhishek all the best for the drags...i think a thinner tyre will get you better timings than a eliminator tyre.
regards.

I would suggest ditching the Eliminator tyre and going for a Splendor or RX 135 rear. These are much better for a drag run.

Stickers are certainly permitted, last I checked!!!

Thanks guys any more mod can be done to engine except porting polishing, exp chamber,K&N air filter and how much BHP a yezdi 250 cc can juice up after all mode.

First and foremost, a bigger carbeuretter and good tuneup. Use slightly bugger dia wheel in front. Front wheel, the thinner the better. Rear wheel: thin yet grippy.

Power to weight ratio is everything mate. The lighter the faster...even few grams matter!!!

Ok I got it I will try to get bullet 500 carb on my Yezdi. I will also post pic of my Rocket after it get through the paint job and engine modifications.

Thanks you all

Take the tank and the seat off. Sit on the frame and use a 500ml bottle for fuel. I'm serious. This will save a lot of weight. Don't know if the regs permit it, though.

But do remove the lamps, the number plate, and all extra panels and frills. Weight lost is time gained.

And most importantly, practice your launches.

Removing the tank is allowed, I think. I remember seeing a bullet with no tank (just a bottle)... if they don't allow removing the seat completely, you could always fabricate a make-shift seat..

And please do remove the Eliminator tyre... unless you're making some serious power (in the region of superbikes), all it will do is slow you down big time.

LOL! Bro If the power is in the region of superbikes the profile required would be double that of elims tyres unless you love a burnout at launch!!! Profiles equal to Elims tyres are doing a good job for bikes like rd350's on a drag strip.

Weight reduction, better induction and a good expansion chamber will give your yezdi a good kick!!

However don't go too thin on the rubber because you'll lose traction...... the splendour rear tire[3.00x18] is too thin for the job, try a Barracuda 120/80 R18, the compound is semi-soft, superb traction, i have it on my CBZ, not too much that it'll slow you down.... for the front you can have a 90/90 R18......... that should give you one stunning quarter mile runner, hope to see some pics of it soon!!!!

Hi guys,

Now got another big problem, when I went to my mechanic for my Yezdi and explained him about the new updates of carb, exp chamber, air filter. He was fine till the air filter and when I went on for more engine updates it looked like I got him bit scared as he never did this kind of mods over Yezdi and was confuse over expansion chamber as he said we have to get one customized for my bike and about specification he was clue less. Now I got my head involved in this and hatched a plan like getting two expansion chamber of RX100 and get it fitted over my Yezdi, now the question is will it work? After reading all post over this site I got this info is that playing with exhaust is quite tricky. Updates is required from all of you specialist out here. And also need information of any good mechanic who can tune up my bike and had good knowledge over Yezdi in Delhi. As Delhi is not a perfect place to find a good tuner.

Abhishek

2 rx 100's expansion chamber is absolutely NO NO!!! The back pressure will be too much if you are running high compression setup!!! Have you worked on the block??? If yes how much have you bored it out to ??? How many mm's?? Is the stroke length stock??If you want a proper setup you will have to design 2 proper expansion chambers, which only an experienced mech will be able to deliver...I have never seen 2x1 expansion chamber made locally so no comments on that!

He had a nice couple o' runs!

Whose bike is it?

Here's a short video of the same RD350 with the 2x1 Expansion chamber and the orange wheels.........sounds damn sweet as he flies by in the morning of the 1st day during the practice runs!!
